Coming into town Dec 29th to January 2. We have front row seats to see the Britney Spears show New Year's Eve (starts at 10pm) and have no plans for afterwards. I'm an older guy (45) but my GF of 2+ years is 21 so I'm sure she wants to do something other than gamble. I'm guessing the show won't end until right around midnight but looking for a fun place to party afterwards. Any and all advice is welcome! I really want to make this a memorable New Years for my GF.

    Thanks!

If your looking to do a club most places are packed by 11. Table service would be highly recommended, but expensive for 2. Most of the casinos have a Nye party, might check out Planet Hollywood or where your staying .getting around is kinda tough and the strip is blocked off.

Makes sense. I'm a high level diamond player with CET so I'm sure we will get some offers from them just hope there are some younger folks at these events. People watching on the strip any good that night?

Last year we did Harrah's New Orleans (in Louisiana) and it was WAY to f*cking crowded. Any insight on what to expect on the strip in Vegas?

I'm not opposed to paying for it but I hear bottle service is CRAZY expensive on NYE.

    Thanks!

We are staying at PH, if that matters. I don't think they have a nightclub anymore, do they?

Honestly, it sounds like you have no clue what to expect from New Years Eve in Las Vegas.

If you are seeing a 10PM show of Britney Spears at MGM Grand then you are probably going to be spending your whole New Years Eve at MGM Grand.

By the time you get out of your show:
    - All the bars and clubs at MGM Grand will be full
    - All the table games will be full
    - 90% of the slots will be full (mostly the very high limit or games nobody wants to play)
    - Like other hotels/casinos MGM Grand will be shutting their doors to the public around 8-9PM. Since you have tickets you will be able to get in there if you are staying at another property, but you want to allow enough time to get through their security checkpoint and the crowds.
    - The Strip is going to be packed with somewhere around 200-300 thousand people from MGM Grand to Ti
    - All the other properties on The Strip are going to be closed except to hotel guests
    - You might be able to get in to another CET property by showing your Diamond card at their security checkpoint, but from MGM Grand it could take you up to two hours to work your way through the crowd
    - If you do try to go to a different property around midnight its not going to be worth it: conditions are going to be pretty much the same as they are at MGM Grand: nowhere to drink or gamble, massive line up everywhere just to get food
    - Most bars will have some kind of cover charge to get in
    - Retail stores are not allowed to sell alcohol on New Years Eve
    - If you can find a game to play in the casino, tables, slots or VP, drink service is actually pretty good at most properties.
    - Going off strip after the show can be hard: you might have problems getting your car out of parking if you are driving, or very hard to find a cab at that time.

Basically, New Years Eve isn't "its Las Vegas, but just going to be a bit busier"

For some people they totally love it, being there on New Years Eve, but for a lot of the people that go just to gamble and enjoy themselves most of them hate New Years Eve in Las Vegas because its totally different from Las Vegas any other time.

Damn! We will make the most of it, I guess. Britney is at PH, which is where we are staying. I love an adventure. Last year Bourbon Street was a mother f*cker...I guess Las Vegas Blvd will be, too. Yeah, I have NO IDEA what to expect but sounds like a CRAZY ride! Hell yeah!

NYE In Vegas is out of this world! We've did it past 3 years, 1st year we hadnt planned anything and didnt have a clue what to expect, we were staying in PH like yourselves and just walked out and saw the fireworks out the main door of PH, last 2 years we were far more prepared and did the bridge bash at NYNY, free bar for 4 hours and live entertainment inside and out, superb night both times and we are gonna be sad to be doing NY here in Scotland this year I tell ya! Have a blast as im sure yous will :drunk:

PH doesn't have a nightclub, but has 4 bar/lounges. They will have a party, but most places don't know who will be the talent or host yet.

I must be honest - Scotland for New Years sounds fantastic! No one celebrates New Years Eve quite like the Scots!
I celebrated New Years Eve "Hogmanay" in Edinburgh one year, so much fun!

New Orleans honestly was MISERABLE! It was INSANE crowded. I'm glad to say that we've done it but won't do it again unless we are going to a dedicated NYE party at a club. Jackson Square and Bourbon Street were both so packed getting a drink just wasn't gonna happen.

Haha! For starters, I don't look my age nor do I act it. I don't try to look or sound like a 20 something, but I am adventurous and enjoy just having fun and love being spontaneous. Being self employed allows me to be able to travel a lot. Plus I make a shit ton of money. Haha! On a serious note, she is Honduran and in their culture it is accepted for a younger woman to be with a much older man because they feel the older men are more mature and established. I do own several pawnshops and a gun store and live by the philosophy that you can't take "it" with you so I'm very generous. Spoiling my loved ones, friends and family brings me great joy. That doesn't hurt when it comes to dating ANYONE , regardless of age.

Biggest things to remember about anywhere in Vegas for NYE is tons of people. Average weekend is 250-300k people. Last year I heard over million but I also heard 600-700k ppl. Going anywhere Sux. Plan ,plan plan. The strip is blocked off from Venetian to MGM and its just as you see in picture. Usually 2-4 stages of music, tons of cops and porta potty lines are long.

Tables for 2 I'm going to say depending on club 5k minimum. If your hitting a club for NYE I can't stress it enough, get a table.
