I can't decide if the people eating 4 buffets in 24 hours have incredible self control or no self control??? I always over-eat at buffets so I would never be able to do the 4 meals, let alone 3 in one day.

But if I had to choose between Paris and PH, I would choose PH for lunch and dinner. Everyone seems to like Paris for breakfast but that's only if you need specialties like crepes. Otherwise every buffet has the same type of breakfast foods.

I wasn't impressed with Paris but it has been a long time since I ate their buffet. I've always loved the buffet at PH but I haven't been there since they went to the cupcake station. I know they get more negative reviews from people now.

Is it Platinum or Diamond? It would be nice if I was wrong, but I thought I have read in these forums CET changed the VIP lines to Diamond, after the TR Visa Platinum came out. Hope I am so wrong on this one! :peace:

Yes, in fact I recommend it because there were getting cold again half way through, but keep in mind having the extra legs in the bucket allows you to pick and choose the easier ones and not have to fight with getting out the meat.

Excuse my ignorance, but just what is the TR Visa thing mentioned ?
I've heard of some book you buy before going so is that what it is ?
Or how do you get it ?
    Thanks

I was at Planet Hollywood the weekend before Thanksgiving and ate at Spice Market three times on the 24 hr pass and used the Platinum/Diamond all three times. I also noticed that they stamped the receipt with a VIP stamp and attached it to a how did we do rating card. We also were seated in the Seven Stars/Diamond seating area.

So are you saying as just Platinum level, we can get into the Diamond line?

Or bypass any kind of line?

    This would be huge!!!

We are Platinum and were seated in the Diamond seating areas at different places several times. I guess if they have space there they let us "lowly" Platinums in, too. :peace:

I think its how you approach it: to some its a buffet so they have to eat as much as they can cram in, to others its just like a regular meal where you eat what you want but don't have to eat until bloated and stuffed.

For me, I hate that stuffed and full and bloated feeling so when we did an all day buffet a couple of trips ago I wound up having just some toast and hashbrowns for breakfast, a couple of pieces of chicken with fries, potato salad and a little garden salad for lunch and then when we did dinner was when I ate until I was pretty full (which because I overate I wound up regretting about an hour later).

I'm sure there are lots of people that just fill themselves up at each meal, but not something I would want to do.

Unless PH has gotten a lot better lately, I would give it a thumbs down for dinner...The one time we went there (maybe 2 years ago) under the Buffet Of Buffets, dinner didn't come anywhere close to Paris. And Paris has gone downhill a bit in recent years...the made-to-order crepes at Paris are still good, but I didn't find much there I wanted for dinner other than prime rib. And when I asked for a thick cut of prime rib at Paris, the guy told me he wasn't allowed to cut thick slices; but he gave me two thin slices instead of the one thick one I wanted...WTF?

I agree that you want to do two dinners if you pay for Buffet Of Buffets..go a little later the first night & get back for dinner the second night before your 24 hours expire.

I have a Buffet Of Buffets pass that's good till January 1 2014. Harrah's gave 2 each to owners at HGVC Flamingo if we'd vote early on giving them permission to build the Ferris Wheel, etc. next to the resort. I voted NO but still got 2 passes because I voted early. I'll probably give PH a try later in the year mainly because I'm staying next door at Elara HGVC later this year. But I'm not expecting all that much -- so I've be pleasantly surprised if I have a good dinner buffet experience there. I have not tried the new buffet at Caesar's, but The M is so much better than the other CET hotel buffets.

I had the same question because I just applied for the TR Visa and after it was immediately granted, I took a look at the CET program chart -- the chart says Platinum does not get to bypass the regular restaurant lines...crap.

I mostly eat at the buffets in Vegas because I can get all the protein I want and limit the amount of carbs I eat. For dinner, I usually get several helpings of prime rib, some vegetables, and eat a reasonable amount of carbs for dessert. I shovel in a pretty good amount of protein but I really don't gain any weight when I go to Vegas. For breakfast I get a nice big omlette and add extra cheese to it on top if the cook ignores my request for double cheese on my omlette, plenty of bacon & sausage and I'm good to go. For lunch I like the buffets at Boulder or Aliante where I can get carved turkey, chicken and vegetables. Works for me.

Free refills on the soda. I think they were offering free wine at the Paris buffet if you were OK with what they were offering. The server asked if I wanted a glass of wine but I declined so I'm not 100% sure it was free. I believe you can pay extra at the Paris buffet and other CET buffets and get unlimited wine & beer (maybe $10 or so extra?)

The M Resort buffet gives you unlimited free beer & wine with the dinner buffet. And the LVH does too but their selection on the "free" liquor sucks. I think they originally had Miller Lite on tap (but it didn't taste like Miller Lite). But in more recent years their free beer selection at LVH was Pabst Blue Ribbon..The wine is cheap box wine. REALLY cheap box wine. Not something you'd probably consider buying at home if you wanted box wine.

Back when Imperial Palace was still around, they had a buffet upstairs that had a tiny selection of food (but the prime rib was OK). They had "free champagne" but it was horrible swill that came out of what looked like a beer kegger tap that you served yourself on. I took my wife there once just to see her reaction to the "free champagne"...it was priceless.

Last time I did this I managed four meals in the 24 hours and was lethargic and overfill the whole time. Next time two dinners and a breakfast

Just for clarification, since you are all the TR Visa experts, do we just go to the TR booth and they can pull up our account and give us the Buffet passes. Is there anything special that I should have received with my TR Visa? Thanks.
