Kinda disappointed that CNBC is attributing Pedialyte's rise as a hangover cure to "social media" instead of the real inspiration: posters on the vegasmessageboard.com forums.

Pedialyte is fantastic. I love going to Vegas in the hot months and hanging out by the pool. Without the Pedialyte + Gatorade combo, I'd be worthless by late afternoon.

Would have been nice if they talked about VMB...but, it's news, so what do they know.

I usually drink Pedialyte at night before I go to bed, and Gator-aid before I go out the next day.

Only a matter of time before casino drink service includes shots of Pedialyte powder mix incorporated into their drinks.

I'll have a triple Bacardi 151 and cherry coke, with 2 doses of Pedialyte, on the rocks. Think of the cross-marketing opportunities!

Never tried it for a hangover, though I used to drink it during summer league baseball games in HS and college after I saw pros drinking it in the dugout.

At the end of the day, pedialyte is just expensive Gatorade (and much worse tasting, IMO). Unless you're super worried about a little sugar, there's no good reason to drink pedialyte over Gatorade (and the G2 version cuts the sugar at least in half).

Plus with the way most Americans eat, myself included, I'd much rather have the higher sugar content of Gatorade, than the higher sodium content of pedialyte.

I tried a new one off Amazon called ORS. Powder packs like the Pedialyte powder. It tastes much better and his higher electrolytes. It seems to work just as well. I haven't Vegas-tested it yet, but I'll let you know in three weeks!

I would think that the higher sodium would be good. I know I sweat a lot more when I've been drinking, so the sodium would replace what I've lost. But, that's a non MD idea. :)
