Thought I'd post about a new benefit for diamond/7 stars at Harrahs STL. New benefits are far and few between, but I really liked this one.

Had a reservation for Thursday night for a comped room as I was working in STL on Thursday and Friday. I rec'd a call a few days before and the gal asked me if I was interested in the new curbside check-in. I said sure, so she asked what time I would arrive (4pm) and she said they would call me prior to that.

Thursday morning, she called my cell and confirmed the room type I wanted and what time I would arrive. I will mention that even though I have lots of comped rooms there, I've been staying in the business hotels recently as Harrahs STL has pissed me off not having my room ready until after 6pm, and also not having my room type (NO ADJOINING DOOR!) available. It's just not worth the hassle of getting there and having to wait or the pain of not getting my room type.

Anyway, the gal gave me a cell phone number to call when I was 5 minutes away. I did call when I was pulling into the property and she said she would meet me in the lobby with my keys. And she did.... with keys to the exact type of room I requested. No paperwork, no signature, just handed me the keys. Wow. She also asked if she could make dinner reservations for me, but I declined.

Since I'm diamond, I don't usually have a long wait in line, but this service is fantastic for me if they are really going to have the room ready AND its the right room. Nice after working all day to just walk in from diamond parking, be handed my keys, and in my room in one minute.

Good for CET to offer a benefit which is a really nice perk, but really doesn't cost them anything.

Good deal for you, Diane !!
I had called down there and told that gal to take special care of you, or else you were taking your nickels north to Terrible's. :wink2:

Somebody has to keep the Missouri Casinos in business!:wink2:

Nice perk, and I like the "no adjoining door" idea.

That's a neat concept. We have it halfway at Joliet with the doormen calling up and announcing the guests who arrive. If the front desk is on it's game, they have the reservation pulled up and by the time you get to the counter. I don't think it's something we would use in STL just because we come from Chicago and taking a moment to have something to drink in Diamond check in is something we look forward to after the long drive.

    Buddha - LOL.

Engicedave - No kidding. I either win big or lose big there. This one was a loss.

JPW - I always request no adjoining door, regardless if it's business in the Hilton chain or if it's a gaming hotel. I never get the little old quiet people in the next room. It goes back to I can't believe the RUDE loud people in hotels and, especially in the gaming hotels, the fights in the next room are unbelievable. Last time I had to call security at Harrahs STL at 4am, the two guys in the room had a hooker (ewww) and drugs in the room. The two guys were yelling and cussing, if they had just kept their stupid mouths shut, they could have continued with the party.

This past trip, there was a room with 2 men just screaming at the top of their lungs. I walked by it on the way to my room, it was about 10 doors down from mine, thank god. I suppose I'm more sensitve to the issue than most since I spend 150+ nights in a hotel room each year.
