I just received this reply from CET.

Thank you for writing Bally' Las Vegas.

In regards to your email, as of November 10, 2014 everyone will get charged for resort fees in the amount of $25.00 per night plus tax except for Diamond and Seven Star Members. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

If there is anything else we can do to further assist you, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

    Thank you,

    Your Question 11/08/2014 02:57 PM
I am a Platinum Player. I was told that effective Nov. 11, 2014 resort fees would NOT be waived for Platinum players. Is this True?

Blame that on the Total Rewards Credit Card. It made Platinum Level a joke. By simply receiving the credit card & without inserting a single $1 in a slot machine, you could have a higher tier level than a Gold player who actually gambled hundreds of dollars.

    Also a fee of $25 + 12.5% tax/night for Bally's is another gigantic joke.

Shame on me, I left my new can of bulls*** repellent home. I thought this was coming as the corporation lost in excess of $ 900 million in the last quarter. We live outside Philly and were getting 10X comps on Thursdays in AC. Now it's 5X. The bean counters are going to run this corporation down. We stayed at Paris and Caesar's our last two trips, as they were comped with our Platinum card. Maybe time to rethink our option. I fully agree that the $ 25.00 resort fee is a joke. Good gambling to all. My friend in Baltimore tells me there are no free drinks at the Horseshoe in that city. Don't know if it's a Maryland ordinance or a city thing.

Looks like CET is making all kinds of cutbacks. Locally (Horseshoe) they took away complimentary champagne for Saturday and Sunday brunch. :(

My uncle had a can of that, a great stocking stuffer! Yes, I find it amazing that the resort fee changes on November 10 and on November 11 Caesars Entertainment reports a big loss. Looks like they are talking to some of the creditors about taking a haircut. Just think, it was about two years ago that there were no resort fees among the Caesars Entertainment properties.

Wow...I remember back a few years ago when they made a big deal about Jubilee dancers "shutting down the Vegas strip" to promote how they don't charge resort fees. Then barely a year later they started charging them for all but platinum and up. Now they take platinum away a little over a year later. Look out diamond! Next year you're next. lol

    This sucks.

I'm platinum from gambling (not a credit card) and it's the level I'm comfortable with.I thought the perks were worth it and I have zero desire to "go for" diamond.

I may be changing alliances next year.

I am not a CET player / gambler. Is this just another example of the target audience being the clients other than gamblers? The clubbers, vacationers in town for something other than placing bets? (unless you are the big better that is?)

What everyone really needs to be concerned about is the rate. $25 for even the low end is going to encourage fee increases from all the other players on the strip.

Basically, all those free rooms for less than Diamond players are now $25 a night.

In addition to this new rule, I was looking at my rate calendar today and my rates have gone waaaay up.

    You wish, CET...

    Disappointed

Just got back a couple of weeks ago, and was thrilled to insure my platinum status for no resort fees for next year's trip. Now my bubble is busted.
Making me think about staying at other places I would not have thought about before.
And we play a lot where we stay, sad.

I got the strange email from MGM. I get free room at Aria with FP, 2 tickets to Zarkana and Resort Credits but at MGM Grand I get a the same but lower FP and tickets to KA and resort credits but I have to pay RESORT Fees??? WTF. Resort fees at MGM Grand but not Aria?

I checked in at the Wynn a few weeks back and I had to remind the front desk that I can decline resort fees on Comped rooms.

So far, Boyd casinos waive resort fees on comped stays. And there are still some hold outs downtown. I could eventually get over the fees at CET but with bankruptcy and restructuring in the future, I don't want to. I would rather invest my time elsewhere.
