I know this is the "VEGAS" message board. But, most of us also play/watch casino stuff elsewhere in the country.

I know we can post in Non-Vegas Chat, but, I for one rarely even look here. This appears to be an area for non-casino chit chat. (vistaprint, snowing, football, missing plane, weather, where to live, termites, jewelry, etc. etc)

It would be great to have a place to talk about other casino action across the country.

    Thoughts?

Note: Sadly, even those that would like to respond to this post will not see it.

I agree. We DO have 'non-Vegas trip reports', but a places for questions or observations about casinos in other places that aren't really trip reports. Something like 'Non-Vegas Casinos/Hotels'. Such things get lost in this Non-Vegas Chat category, which I thought was for miscellaneous stuff (non-Hotel, non-Gambling) where I want to hear answers from people that haunt VMB.

My thinking is that this section is one that many rarely visit in the first place. I jump in here once in a great while to see what is happening, but so many of the posts are - well - so off the wall, I move along.

Yeah, I figured out what you were talking about as soon as I posted. I guess since I always check the “new posts” first thing upon logging in, I figure everyone else does as well. I realize some folks probably only check the forums that interest them. And I get what you mean about the non-Vegas section…it can definitely be a bit off the wall at times.

Obviously, I have nothing to do with the running of this board...but I would certainly cast my vote in favor of nostresshere's proposal (if I had one). I do think it might be a good idea to separate the "How's the food/blackjack/video slot selection at XYZ Casino" from the "Julius Peppers signing bonus" threads.

I would think I check non-Vegas casino chat more often. I make it to Tunica, St. Louis, and Chicagoland as much as I do Vegas. Vegas is way more fun, but these 3 are a lot more convenient for me and I'm a bit of an addict. :grrr:

New sections are always possible. It's just a matter of finding a place for it on the ToDo List. :)

I am currently working on a huge project behind the curtain, but I'll add this suggestion to the list of things we're working on. Okay?

I would definitely like a Non-Vegas Casinos section too. I play in multiple locations, although, of course, Vegas is my absolute favorite.

Sounds good to me, and I'd never even look at it. Casino = Nevada in our language, but those folks should have a place to hang out to share and learn.

    Here are two points.
1 - I like the fact this is a Vegas specific board. Even the name is specific to Vegas. For non-Vegas or general questions we have this Non-Vegas Chat. Not sure we need any more non Vegas sections on the Vegas board. For non-Vegas chit chat there are numerous other boards to go to.

2 - Although this web site has a number of sections, I really only visit the 4-5 of them. So, adding 1 or 100 more won't affect me, but it may dilute the Vegas theme. You may have to switch from VegasMessageBoard to simply "TheMessageBoard".

I read all replies in all categories except for anything Myvegas, Shows, Nightlife and Poker.

I think non-vegas is sufficient, but wouldn't be upset if you added another. Just my 2 cents.:peace:
