My daughter who's 11 has always wanted a dog, my wife wasn't so keen. Last month the hamster died and my daughter was upset. My wife came around to the dog idea and we visited a dog rescue place last week. My wife has took to the dog so much and he has took to her as well. He is well trained and so placid, he just likes being made a fuss of.

Good people adopt rescues. They give a second chance to a forgotten pet.

We favoured the rescue dog route as we wanted a grown dog rather than a puppy. He has been looked after, we were told it was a change in the families circumstances that led to him ending up in a dogs home. He is such a softy and has fitted straight in with us.

Good looking dog! He looks like a gentle and loving fellow. Glad he found a home with people to love.

I must admit my eyes misted a bit. My doggie has been gone a few years now and I miss him a lot.
