OK, one thing I know is that I am going to Vegas the week of Thanksgiving and will be there for four nights. I am not sure if I will fly out on Sunday the 18th and return on Thanksgiving day of leave Monday or Tuesday and still stay the four nights. I am not concerned about being home for Thanksgiving dinner so that is not a concern.

One part of me wants to be in Vegas towards the holiday weekend however I want to stay on the strip and I am ok with changing hotels once during my stay. I just want to try and keep the total cost of the room to about $300 to $400(including resort fees) for the total stay and I know this is a slower week in the city I want to try and stay at Aria for one or two nights if possible. I hve not been to Vegas since this has been open and from what I have read I would really like it.

I am not against staying here on the slower earlier week nights but don't want to miss out on the larger crowds and more fun on the busier nights.

I will stay pretty much anywhere from the Monte Carlo and above, I am not really intereseted in staying at Imperial Palace or Harrahs.

I am a 40yo single male who will be traveling alone and wanted to see what reccomendations this board will come up with.

Who better to ask than all the experts :licklips:

Well here is a rough rundown of the average nightly rates for those nights. Obviously MLife props need to include the resort fee. But overall, the rates look dirt cheap overal (it is a Sun-Thurs and a holiday on top of that)

From what I am seing, based on your possible budget and my personal experiences I would recommend Mirage.

Price looks great for those dates, the location is excellent and its a great property.

If you are willing to pay the extra $30-40/night to try out Aria - go for it! How often do you go anyway right? The only downside is that it is set back from the strip a little bit. On the flip side, once you finally hit the street - its right in the dividing line of the south and middle strip. There is also a tram that takes you to either Bellagio or Monte Carlo.

Remember these rates are rough and can probably be made better by random promotions that pop up.

THANK YOU for the detailed response. I think I am going to ahve to give Aria a try somehow, I am just trying to weigh all my options and do I stay at Flamingo or TI for two nights and then move over to Aria toward the end of the week of to Aria earlier? I guess nobody can really answer this question besides me but I love to ge the advice of other experts

I found a great deal for Aria and considered it for the first 2 nights of my 4 night trip, but part of me seems to vote against the hotel switching on such a short trip. Then again - I am usually with other people. If I was alone it wouldn't be such a hassle rounding everyone up to move.

If you have no problem with doing the checkout and check in again in the middle of your trip - go for the two hotels. Maybe take a stroll late morning to the 2nd hotel and try to check in...this way when you wheel the luggage over - you wont get stuck checking it with the bell.

Since this is a solo trip - definitely do what YOU want to do. Try Aria since you seem to want to give it a shot. I would book Aria for the last two nights because it seems like you will be doing a lower tier prop for the other nights. Never fun to downgrade a room mid-vacation right?

fyi, I also encourage you to sign up for MLife and then visit Aria website, sign up for their email alerts.

For example, I just got an email from Mirage with code for 20% off so that $76 rate is down to $60-63 for your dates. And I haven't been in the Mirage for about 8 years.

Also, if you are on Facebook, like the Aria page, they post deals there all the time, currently 20% plus +35 resort credit but only good thru end of Oct. I bet they post another deal good for Thanksgiving week.

Ok, I have now booked the Flamingo for the first two night of my stay and the total with taxes is right at $110 so all i need now is the Aria hopefully for the last two nights. Staying in a Go Deluxe Room at Flamingo, I have never stayed there before but the location is good and the room looks pretty nice too!

Thanks for all the advice I have recieved so far.
