OK, so at most of the fine dining establishments, when served raw oysters, the waiter makes it a point to tell me what type of oyster it is and where it came from (east coast, west coast, etc.).

I ate a center cut steakhouse Monday night and the waitress neglected to provide that information.

I guess I could've asked. Should I have expected that information to be provided?

She didn't tell you the type? Or both the type and its origin?

If she didn't tell you the type, that's bizarre. I personally don't like certain types of oysters so I will normally ask what they have beforehand.

Yeah, but she was young, cute, and Korean (adopted, so she didn't speak the language), so I let it go . . . .

Guessing they are not required to tell you that info, but should retain the tag stating the where and when of harvest. 90 days in Florida.
I'm not familiar with Nevada food service policy, but imagine it's similar.

Also, it could have been that she might have said the name and location, but I was so busy looking at her that I didn't "hear" what she was saying . . . . :evillaugh:
