I haven't been to Vegas since 2005, and I wasn't married at that time. I am now, and have a different last name. When I go back (hopefully this year), can I just sign up for new cards, or do I have to do a name change on each? I'm a super, super low-level player, so I really don't care so much about comps because I never get them (other than free alcohol while playing, of course). I really get the cards for the immediate perks that come with it like discounted food, tickets, etc.
It doesn't sound like there would be any benefit for you to revive your old accounts, if they can even do that (some places probably could, some couldn't). So you should just go in as a new signup.
As long as you have an id with your new name, they probably won't associate you with your old account. Most casino give you something for signing up so it would be worth getting new accounts.
The only reason I would do the name change is if you wanted to keep old status. I recently was divorced and decided it was worth it, but when I first was married I didn't even bother.
My hunch would tell me that they still have you in their system because most likely your driver's license/ID number is tied to your card. I am thinking that they would just update your name with your old card since you are not really a "new" sign up. I could be wrong, and I hope I am so you can take all those wonderful benefits as a new signee. Cheers!!
