Don't BS me... I emailed my host re: Eagles concert this weekend, knowing it was very close to the date of said event... Got a terse email reply saying We Are Sold Out. OK, but I want to come to Vegas regardless and give you my $$$. I called VIP svcs w/MB and was offered the SpringFling (300 resort credit, 150 FP, 3 nights room). Took it. Then rec'd an email from host saying he is "working on it" ( I assume the Eagles tix) and that he :rolleyes2:should know in a few hours what's up... Still waiting to hear, I really don't care at this point if I see the Eagles or not... Downtown is looking better all the time

Without knowing the wording of both your e-mail and the host's response, it doesn't seem completely out of line to not mention a room offer. If you asked specifically about The Eagles concert, and didn't say you were planning a trip for that weekend and wanted to see if there were tickets available for the concert, your host may have mistakenly thought you would only come out for the concert.

If not, you better be high Platinum for attention at MB...

Just so you know, your host got an alert when you booked (I am assuming you are using an MGM/Mlife host). That is likely the reason he reached out - not because he was secretly working behind the scenes for you the whole time.

Despite that cynical sounding comment... Like JustNgo said, I am not willing to just the host negatively without more info. And even if he is being "reactive" now that you booked, as least he is acting... and I suspect in good faith (or he would not have emailed you).

I just didn't want you to think it was a coincidence that he reached back out to you. Good luck!

Because the OP felt "brushed off" by her host when it now appears there might be a chance of tickets. I am not saying I agree the OP should be mad, but I certainly understand the perspective. I will add a bit more to my last reply...

I am sure the host can look in the system and immediately 1) see how many tickets are in the casino inventory ("casino block", not the supply of generally available tickets), and 2) see how many "invited guests" there are already committed. Based on your spring offer, it sounds like your play is enough to warrant tickets in general, but you would be on the lower end of the scale. So if the supply/demand situation looks tight, you would get a "sold out" indication from your host. However, once the host learns you will come regardless, they will put you on the list and they will give you tickets based on last minute availability. So it all makes sense, and really depends on the details of the communication (i.e., "I would come if I could get Eagles tickets" vs "I am coming. Any chance of Eagles tickets?").

FYI - I bet the host comes through with tix for OP!

    :peace:

Well, if you enjoy MB or the Strip, don't immediately pack your bags for downtown. Try a new host, first. FYI, form my experience, my host at MB is probably the least responsive of the hosts I use. He always come through for me in the end, but he is simply not prompt in responding or taking care of things for me. If I didn't have a good track record with him (he was the second host I ever got in vegas), I probably would have ditched him by now. Makes me wonder if the marketing at MB is simply like that across the board. Good luck

On the other side, I could see this happening as well.

Player: Hey, can you get me Eagles tickets?
Host: No, sold out, but let me get you a room.
Player : Are you stupid or what? If no tickets, why the hell would I want a room?

Not too many people are mind readers.

Or, maybe the host is a jerk.

He did offer to hook me up with a room at cost,i said ok, but then never emailed me back

That's ridiculous. You had a room at wherever that wasn't MLife and played 5k in two days anyways? And that's you low playing MLife? Fuck that and the Mirage host

If you used your card at an MGM casino, you were in the system as a player. That play counts... does not matter if you are on a comp or where you stayed.

MLife and how fickle they are with comps. Speciality machine giving less points therefore harder to earn comps. MY host at Bellagio telling me they can only comp 20 percent of theortical. MLIFE just frustrates me.

I was totally loyal to MGM for years. My host at NYNY was good (B). My hosts at Mirage, Aria, MC, and Bellagio were all generally terrible. Last year I switched to CET and my single all CET property host has been awesome. Too bad the CET rooms/casino just don't compare with the quality of the MGM rooms/casino.

As for the OP, I think more investigation needs to be done. But, there are plenty of other casinos happy to take your play so just go elsewhere if you need to.

I stayed at a non MGM property, but yet with my 5k play in just 2 days at Mirage and the play I put in at all other MGM properties and MGM offers me comps as well as NYNY and Excalibur, but isnt MGM a higher property than Mirage.. /?

When you say 5k what do you mean? You lost 5k? You bet 5k? You had 5k coin thru on a slot? What do you mean. If you lost 5k how did you lose it?

it was coin in just at the Mirage over 2 days, by slots, not to mention whatever else was played at MGM properties.
