The other day I had 2 casino offers in my mail - one from Mandalay/THEHotel and one from Seneca Casino. Seneca is fairly close and had $15 free play, $15 comps with a reduced hotel rate of $89. I am a microroller so I will pleased to get anything. Going with my gamblin' buddy K (who has ten times the budget I have, at minimum) in a few days -staying and eating for free on her comps.

The Mandalay/THE Hotel was for two free nights, $100 FP and $75 FB. We had been there in late Sept and I stayed Sapphire but she made Gold in three days, and we are going next month on her host's offer of four days/$400FP/$100 FB and limos. The only way I can get the FP was if I took the room, which I pointed out to the M life rep, seemed kind of shady to take a room when I don't need it (already staying with K) but she said this way I have a room to charge things to.

Anyhow, I was so excited to get an offer in the mail, just like I read about on VMB. We also got cheap flights to LV. Just wanted to share my excitement about my comps which are usable on an already-planned trip.

I am pretty pleased with our rooms, freeplay and food.

Congratulations. Take the room. It's a pretty common practice, and you're not even double booking since your friend has her own offer. If nothing else it will give you a second bathroom to use on the two days where you have your room. Ask when you check in to get rooms near each other on the same floor.

It's worth the extra effort of the second room to get the $175 in freebies. To get the food and beverage you've got to charge it to your room.

That's a nice offer for a 'micro roller'

with some of the mlife offers, even with a comped room you still need to pay the resort fee but sometimes they are waived (you should double check). Even if you need to pay the resort fee for the 2 days its only 50 bucks and you are getting $175 in freeplay and food plus the extra room . Good deal.... enjoy your trip!!!

Thanks everyone! I did check with the young lady if there was a resort fee and she said with these offers that they were not charging a resort fee. So that's pretty nice. I am really excited to see THEHotel, esp since it is going to be renovated into a Delano. I went to the Delano site and their decor looks great, but wonder what kind of target market they go for?

We were at MB for four days and three nights in September and really liked the hotel and casino - the casino was very roomy, not smoky, and I found good drink service, moreso in the mornings. I learned from VMB to always have your drink tip ready when the cocktail waitress arrives, and never touch the tray! Looking forward to trying Border Grill and Burger Bar this time, and returning to House of Blues (really great food and the decor is insane!). Just a few more weeks!

Is there anything sweeter than the countdown til Vegas, when life really begins? :)

Nice! Helluva lot better than my first (IP, if memory serves). Congrats. Make sure to use the "invited guests" line at check-in...you know, just to take full advantage of the offer...not to make the masses jealous or anything like that. :evillaugh

I'm not sure where my reply went, but here's my second try...

Get adjoining rooms and make your own suite. It will be great if one of you is an early riser.

    Have a great trip.

I am staying at Hard Rock next month using my first comp offers. I have recieved one free night at the Strat based on my play from Nov, but the Hard Rock offer is for 5 consecutive nights, with $20 dining credit and $15 free play per day. Not much for some on here, but for a micro roller like me it meant the world to me. A couple less things to have to pay for, I know $20 dining credit isn't much, but I will be solo and will be able to at least eat one meal a day with it. Congrats on your offers, and enjoy- I know I will be enjoying mine.

One of the more outstanding ideas I have seen in quite some time. The main reason we like REAL suites is that one of us always wakes up early and goes into the other room. Great.

    Great idea.

Congrats on the offer and welcome to the elite world of extra unused rooms in Vegas, or as we like to call them "Dead Hooker Storage".

BeeeJay, I am tickled to have a reply from you. I really enjoy your writing style. Stay awesome! :)

Travel pal got another offer from Four Seasons, good til May 31, 2 free nights, 250 FP, 200 Food. We are liking this comp business! Just spent a weekend at Seneca Casino with free rooms, food, and some free play. Also, because it is the US and we are there for 48 hours, we can bring back delicious alcohols unavailble in micro-managed Ontario. WIN WIN, baby!

Is this your travel pal who smokes? She has enough time to quit between now and the end of May so you can stay at Four Seasons and enjoy the Bulgari toiletries :)

It would be great for her health but I don't think it is likely. However, never say never. The new FS room redecoration looks AMAZING!

Woo hoo, today is the day! Off to Vegas! Thanks to all of you who have given me so much information - I've learned so much from these boards. Going to enjoy my first comped Vegas room (after I check for dead hookers!).

Back today from Vegas - coming home on the redeye is something I am not sure I can do again.

On friend K's offer, we were picked up in a gold stretch MGM limo with a driver who could be Penn's doppelganger. Tipped $20 as suggested here. Taken to VIP checkin at THEHotel where they had a nice selection of drinks available while they checked us in. They confirmed the return limo right then for the return to the airport. Then we went up to our room on the 27th floor with Strip view, and we were thrilled with the beautiful suite. It was like a tiny downtown condo, with beautiful granite counters, and TWO bathrooms. I took the powder room while K had the Master (it's her offer). The beds were unbelievably comfy with silk comforters and high thread count sheets. Her host had left a gift of wine and chocolates by Vincent Pilon (?), in beautiful Easter-egg coloured boxes, including truffles, two kinds of chocolate almonds, two chocolate bars and some other goodies. Of course, like the n00b I am I took pictures of everything. Great toiletries as well!

We tried over several days to speak with the host but we were busy gambling, although I did meet him at last and brought him over to meet K. Very nice and professional, and he was concerned to know if we liked everything, what else would we like? It was fantastic - nobody ever asks me that! At the end of the trip everything was comped - we did the buffet, House of Blues, sports bar, Hussong's Cantina, room service. And I made Pearl! Woo hoo!

I had my own room offer so I went on the 21st and checked in - I was 15th floor but the offer had said complimentary upgrade so I got a V-suite. I had no intentions of sleeping there but wanted the FP and RC (and the toiletries!). We went up to check it out and it would have been perfect for a couple on a romantic vacation, with a great view of the strip and big King bed. Now I had a place to charge our food, and I went and did my FP. I did $100 on a .25 3-reel slot (I have no card skills) and won $57 after burning through the FP.

Really like the Mandalay Bay casino. We went to Cosmopolitan to do their $100 FP/loss reimbursement offer and it was loud although the drink service was great -priorities, eh? Then we ended up at the MGM Grand and the frat boys were out in full force, screaming and woohoo-ing. I am getting old and do not like random shouting when I am trying to develop an emotional attachment to my slot machine :))). We went back to MB and exhaled, as even though it was Friday and busy, you had room to walk, it was much less noisy, and the bathrooms were much nicer.

I would totally recommend THEHotel for an older person who likes calm as the lobby is scented, visually soothing and the service is very good. Very little noise, although the elevator area had a haunted sound from the wind blowing down the elevator shafts. Constantly saw staff cleaning the area, gorgeous flower arrangements on the tables, and everyone was helpful.

Now I'm curious to see what kind of offers we get next time when we stay at THEHotel. Isn't it funny, even when you are still in Vegas, you are thinking of next time?
