Sorry you had this horrible experience. I would not have been so cool about it.
Had a similar experience at Caesars about five years ago and never returned.

I have to say, I stay at Aria frequently and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive.
If I had to pick one negative, it is the bell desk.
Try contacting the hotel manager and see what they will do for you.

Wow that is bad. Like some others I've had very good experiences at Aria but yours sounds plain awful. Not only did they create a lot of problems but they handled them poorly as well. Hopefully someone in charge calls you after reading your survey. They offered to have someone call me just for some minor criticism I had, after your experience they really need to reach out to you.

I wonder if Jason Herd is on another board somewhere posting about how Aria screwed up and gave his room to some stranger with no luggage. :poke:

I really think a letter (very similar to what you wrote here with the images) to aria would be therapeutic.
At the end let them know you don't want anything in return because you will no longer stay there.

Very sorry to hear about the issue.
For each of us who venture to Vegas enough experience something like this in one way or another.
    Welcome to the club.

    LOOOOLLL!!!

I'd have probably taken a similar stand, and suggested at that point my time is getting to be a lot more valuable than a $75 F&B credit..

Thank you for sharing your less than stellar experience. I'm hoping it's just a hiccup, tho the bell issues seem to be an ongoing thing (note to self to avoid bell desk at all costs). Sorry you had to go through it. I hope they make things right.

Simple, when checking in he stated he doesn't want to be bitten by bed bugs, so they fulfilled his request.........:wink2:

Thanks again for all the posts. The Bell desk does seem to be the source of most of visitor annoyance. Seeing that in so many posts really helps me.
If I decide to sample a night at Aria with free MyVegas points, I'll arrive from the Orleans, so I could check out and leave my bags with the Orleans bellman until late afternoon and then make my way to the Aria and check in, hopefully without a wait.
Generally, if I ask, the Orleans gives me until 1 PM for check out. So, a bit more time on the VP there or a long coffee with my computer in the Java area wifi would get me over that dead period between check out and check in.

This is why I never, EVER let my bags leave my control. If I get there early enough to have to wait for my room, my bags never leave my side or they stay in the trunk of my rental car.

It could have been worse. I stayed at a Renaissance in Cleveland through the Horseshoe last year. We got our room keys and opened the door to find a middle aged guy sprawled out on the bed and his wife coming out of the bathroom. They had complained about the elevator noise in their room, by phone. They got another room assigned to them and were waiting for their luggage. We got reassigned the room in the mean time and surprise! They held our room hostage for 20 minutes until their luggage finally came. It was the most uncomfortable 20 minutes of my life with 2 total strangers, making small talk in a hotel room. It felt like how a really bad porn swingers movie would start.:ssst:

I find the consistent comments about Bell Desk issue funny. On my trip last month to MGM, I had an amazing convergence of perfectness. The post trip survey reflected this with high marks everywhere... except the bell desk. That was literally the only thing I pointed out with something other than "flawless" as my feedback. I did not have any real issues, but I found the process confusing and the bell hops the least friendly of any employees I encountered.

Most people want to do a good job. What we see as incompetence is the result of bad managers not supporting the workers. Bad service starts at the top, bring in good managers that organize, support and supervise and service will improve quickly.

Are you reading this Aria managers?

No, must be an MGM or an Aria thing. I've left my bags at the Bell desk at Caesars, Ballys, and Paris (inside at the desk) and picked them up right at the desk when my room was ready. No issue. They store the bags in a locked room behind the desk. Easy peasy.

I'm really sorry about your bad experience, you handled it well. What gets completely missed is the fact your VERY first LV experience when you arrive is a buzzkill. The vacation you planned for, looked forward to every single day, and it's all right in front of you... then buzzkill. I had a really bad experience during my last LV checkin and it really put a cloud over the day. These 'resorts' and hotels need to include the notion that their guests are on VACATION in their employee training, the employees literally have someones VACATION experience in their hands. I think that gets lost somewhere along the way.

I travel every week on business, so my vacation doesn't begin mentally until my bags are in my room and all the travel crap is over. I've not stayed at Aria and I'm sure they do a good job most of the time. However, i've seen enough poor reviews that I'd recommend their management team go to a better run resort for training, to see what GOOD looks like. There are enough mid-range hotels that get it right, the expectations for a hotel the caliber of Aria should be even higher.

YES!!! Vegas is my happy place. Nothing is allowed to annoy me, bother me or ask me to work when I'm there. :) You are so right that when you get to check-in and they are surly or don't get your room assignment right, it can put a damper on things.

I've been lucky and have only had a few problems in Vegas, or my standards are low. But those problems do cast a mighty big shadow on those trips. Hotels would be well served to remember that. And dealers too. No more grouchy dealers!!!

They should give you more than $75 just for proving they can replace 2 people with a sign.

The trick with these faux 5 star hotels is to expect 2-3 star service. Less disappointing that way.
