A philosophy question for my fellow VP addicts, just for grins. Assuming equal pay tables, would you rather play a single line at higher denomination or a multiline at the same overall bet, but more lines? e.g. a single $1 line or 10 lines at 10 cents each.

Personally, I like the multi line and try and keep the bet the same. Doesn't always work that way and I am wagering more.

I prefer multi line to single. 3 play quarters with STP/DSTP is what I play the most.

I prefer multiline. The main reasons were I just like it. I have a new reason to like it now - I'd rather play multiline quarters than single line dollars in case I hit a Royal. The situation with the IRS and getting refunds is unbearable now and I'd rather not go through it.

Royals on multiline quarters will come more often than single line dollars, and no paperwork!

I tend toward single myself, if I drew to a royal on a hundred line machine I'd feel ripped off that the payout was so diluted! But I can't not play multiline on STP/DSTP...and spin poker...just can't stand to see a winning line above or below a single line on a spin poker machine. I guess I just am schizophrenic or can't make up my mind!!

I like multi because of the chances to gain something back on a dud dealt hand. I've never run into the Royal for less problem because unlike my credit card, I have a zero rate in those.

For same overall bet, multiline, but I like both. But I feel the average gambler ups their total bet overall with multiline, which is exactly what the casino hopes for.

My favorite is 100 play bouncing between penny and nickel depending on bankroll

For "normal" VP, I prefer higher denom single line. I need the variance to get me going. For lower denom multi line, I need a gimmick (STP/DSTP, Ult X, Multi-strike, etc.) to keep me interested.

I would prefer lower denom multi-line, but that doesn't seem to be an option downtown on JoB.

Single hand, higher denomimation. With multiline, it seems good wins (400, 800 ect.) are quickly plowed back into the machine. In other words, nice wins are watered down by all the losers.

Down and dirty single hand dollars - a good quad or aces is enough to send me home a winner.

I've went back and forthe on this subject..
I started out playing $ single line 8/5 Bonus poker, with my $10k coin-in, then switched over to 10c 10-play 8/5 Bonus poker...I hit a few $400 royals on the 10-play during the course of my "sessions", but I never did hit a $4000 royal...
all things equal, the 10-play had MUCH less variance, and I'd choose it if I was short on the bankroll (lol, which I always am)

I'd prefer single line to multi-line cause I have not gotten a Royal and if I dropped to penny's or .05 I would be rather mad at a $40 royal!

This! I don't want to dilute the royal especially since I've been waiting forever to get one. I've hit 4 aces (without the kicker) on DDB -- that felt good! But, being a $0.25 denom, it wasn't that much. So now I exclusively play $1 or $5 max bet single line. I'll play quarters when I'm trying to get free drinks at the table top bars -- for obvious reasons.

Single hand , higher denomination. The multi-line always seems like it's not maxbet on the return.

There is 100-play 1c JoB game at Four Queens. I popped my Royal Flush cherry on that machine.

I'm all about 5 play. It lowers the variance because when I have four to a flush I get five chances to pull the right suit any one of which covers the entire bet.

Much more fun on the big pays! I really enjoy the slow (relative) reveal of each hand, especially when you already have something.

I'm usually trying to hit 10K coin-in for the day with a $500 bankroll. I'll play 3/5/10 line quarter 8/5 BP, putting a hundred in at a time and starting with 3 lines, then bumping up to 5 if I get over $200 and then 10 if I get over $300, and also reducing back as necessary. It seems I'm usually more successful at hitting goal like this than with single line $1 8/5 BP or JoB, especially if I'm able to parlay up to 10 lines and stick around there for a while.
