I just overheard someone talking about this in the store. Can someone fill me in?
They said they are a must see, but I did not hear where.

    Not much to see.

Its just a rubber mat you stand on and it moves.

    Like a flat, rubber escalator.

airports have had them for years.

The one leading to Venetian is kind fun if you've had a few cocktails. Make sure to take your hands off the railing as you're cresting the hill! Woo-hoo!

The "springy" one leading up to CP is kinda trippy as well.

Yeah the CP one is fun when you've tied a good buzz on...provided its working. That has gone the way of many of the escalators there lately...always broken.

That one is definitely springy. Reminds me of a crappy bridge I drive across in West Memphis, AR when I drive to Tunica.

The Bally's walkway is the worst though. Often not working, and when it is, the handrail likes to randomly jerk.

The ones from Excal to Luxor there is 50/50 chance of any of them working. I think there are 3 each way. And at least 1 is broken at any given time. Not sure why they have so much trouble keeping them working as they're indoors.

    They are officially called travelators.

I personally like the name my young daughter gave them a few years ago: "escalow" (as in, an escalator that is low).

Perfect! Then when you have the passed out drunkard in your group you just lay him/her on the "escalow (you should TM that, Spicole!)" for the ride back to the front of your hotel.

And one very long one going out into the desert, perhaps ending in a pit.

    Escalow I like that...

But come to think of it...shouldn't the down ones not be called escalators? Downscalators? Has to be something better...Even elevators aren't always elevating...

    just askin'...

How many years now has the one leading into Excalibur from the strip been motionless?

And it'll never work again. It's long gone now.

Part of it is gone. If you look through the construction you can see that the escalator going up to the section over the driveway is still there and I'm guessing the moving walkway that goes across it is also. I'm betting that they are going to keep those and open them back up after the construction is done. But the part that went from the street to there is indeed completely gone.

Remember that long elevated moving walkway that went into Caesars? I don't think I ever saw that thing fully operational.
