My wife is going to visit her sister for 4 days and I'm going to have a movie marathon. With the drought, there is really nothing to do outside anyway.

So here are the ones I've got lined up:
    Godfather-all 3

    Casino

    Goodfellas

Once Upon A Time in America. I'm looking forward to seeing this. I've seen the others multiple times, but I haven't seen this in decades and I only saw the cut version they released in the theater in 1984. Segio Leone directed this epic and I have the uncut version which runs 226 minutes.

And for comic relief Fargo & Big Lebowski DUDE!

Great choices Joe - all of them.

    Have you seen "Donnie Brasco".....

It is based on a true story - Undercover FBI agent Joe Pistone (played by Johnny Depp) gets as deep into the mafia.

    Great movie.

Yes, but not in years. Only so much time & my wife isn't a big fan of this genre, so I have to fit it in while she's gone. But to her credit, she did buy me the Godfather DVD collection as a gift, even though she doesn't care to watch it.

You know, Johnny Depp has grown on me as an actor. I used to just scoff at him. Maybe that's from Edward Scissorhands days. Rum Dairy, Pirates, he is very versatile. A few others that I can't recall off the top of my head.

Olympic games don't interest me that much. If I'm flipping through and happen to see the girls playing beach volleyball, I'll watch for a while.:wink2:

Swimming - both sexes- can keep my attention for a bit, but track & field and most of the other events-not too much.

I guess I enjoy the winter games more.

Different strokes for different folks. :peace:

In my "normal" life, my husband and I don't watch any sports. Maybe an ice hockey game or some championship tennis every now and then. Neither of us were raised playing or watching team sports (except me with hockey - in high school and college, I was the manager of the ice hockey team - can't skate for sh!t though:rolleyes2: My husband is a great skater - junior pairs when he was younger). But we're both Olympic junkies and will watch any sport on. Well, not so much "athletics" (track and field). BUt my husband spent hours watching curling during the winter games, so anything is possible ;-)

    I wasn't being critical.:peace:

OTOH, once the NFL starts, you'd have a hard time prying me away from a TV. We also are the proud owners of 2 season tickets to the Green Bay Packers.

Not the days, just the nights. I'm a homebody at heart and I don't need to get silly and get a DUI.:drunk:

Ugh, summer olympics. I still would rather watch curling than track n field events. Joe, love your taste in movies. All classics. Rounders is another worth plopping in the DVD player.

Although I do love your taste in movies, that last sentence I can do without! Although being from MN I am a Patriots fan, but do watch the Vikes and they are my NFC choice. We have a long road to recovery the next few years, even stranger they could have won 8-10 games last year if they didn't blow leads. Bad year for me, the Vikes and then watching the Pats blow the Super Bowl. Its all in fun though, and I look forward to the NFL season

Joe Pesci, wacked in two movies.

It's been a lone time since I saw Casino & Goodfellas. Found it funny that Joe Pesci got wacked in both of them. I never realized that until I saw both in the same night.

Also, because I stay at Main Street Station, I didn't realize the car bomb scene in Casino, was shot in the MSS valet parking lot, looking east toward The Cal. Although back then, it wasn't MSS or a Boyd place.

Got the guest bathroom painted today and mowed the 2.5 acres of weeds, that used to be a lawn before the drought.

Next movie up is Once Upon A Time In America. Guess I won't make all three Godfather movies before my wife comes home tomorrow.

Scorsese has a new one coming out with Pesci, DeNiro and if I remember right Pacino in it. Should be just as good as any of the other Scorsese/DeNiro flicks, which all rank high in my book. Heat is another of my faves with Pacino and DeNiro in it. A good surround and a big screen are required to enjoy that movie to its fullest.
