And Beer! I love being able to drink the brew pub beers out at the casino tables.

Experience is the key word. Golden Gate is a booze laden festival of silliness that features dancing girls dealing 3:2 blackjack. Everyone I've interacted with there is super friendly, accommodating and appreciative of my business. A personal favorite staff member of mine is a bartender named Curly who often gives me CD mixes of his favorite music. That's why I said the "best DT style gaming experience" - you can't find anything quite like it on the strip or anywhere else. In my opinion if you are simply looking for the best gaming odds you should go to a locals casino.

Another favorite "only DT" gaming experience is the El Cortez poker room. It's full of crazy characters.

    Pop ....
Like your experiences at the GG, we have also developed solid relationships at Main Street Station. All the staff we interact with are super friendly, from the hosts, player's club, hotel staff, floor attendants, bartenders, buffet workers, etc., etc. We have had dinner with some of the staff, and had numerous meals easily comped at MSS (and the Cal) ... all of which makes for a fun trip every time, and keeps us happily coming back.

Add in the inventory of full-pay VP on the floor, and at the bar, along with the "scratch-cards", plus fun meals at the 777Brewpub (and their micro-brews) ... and it all adds up to lots of fun times at MSS.

I think MSS is a nice DT joint and I totally respect your opinion. That said, delivers the DT style gaming experience I'm looking for.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Posters like yourself are one of the reasons why I enjoy VMB. Getting other people's perspectives is always interesting.

What casino delivers the best DT gaming experience was not the OP's question.
Best gaming experience calls into play lots more factors.
When I think of "Fun" I think of laughing and being entertained. That's GG.

Picking "best gaming experience" means I have to take into account the gambling conditions. I had a great time playing full pay JOB VP at the bar at MSS drinking that beer. I sat next to the taps on purpose!

Arghhhh! I'm not going back until May 1st. This thread is not helping me at all to deal with that time frame!! lol

ps: I haven't decided whether to stay at MSS or GG by the way.

Golden Gate for me, hands down. I have to admit, I have never set foot inside MSS (I DO plan on hitting it up my next trip), and have only briefly played or walked in Binion's, LVC (ugh), the Plaza (yuck), Fremont, and 4 Queens. I had a great time @ 4 Queens but since it was 4 years ago (& I was 4 sheets to the wind) I don't remember much.

At the GG there was a rather handsome black dealer (guy) :wink2: that danced his entire shift at the table while I was there, and never missed a payout. I loved it. Plus, some of the debauchery from the music out by the stage when Lady GoGo plays kinda spills over into the casino.

Royal flushes and an abundance of quick drinks sways me to LA Bayou, MSS and the Cal. I've stayed at the D (Fitz) for free since 2000 and love the Dueces Wild Table Game, I am very disappointed with the Long Bar and the Long Bar payouts. Just not as cozy as the old bar and certainly not as VP friendly.

For some reason, I was never able to get to the 4Q inner circle so comps never came. Everyone seems to have a blast there as do I but never received the first offer.

I racked up 500 points ($4k total coin in) playing $0.25 9/6 JOB and turned in my American Casino Guide coupon for double points (1,000 points - good for $25 in cash back!). It took a few hours and I was well fortified with cocktail service.

Ever since I have received offers for comped rooms and $80 FP, or a comped room and VP tournament (I believe they are for $4k- $10K total prize pool).

Their standard rooms are not so great (pick the tower with the elevator close to check in for better rooms) but they are clean and work downtown. They have 9/6 JOB or 10/7 DB at $0.25 and $1 level and good cocktail service. They also do not have the extremely loud music in the evenings. They only run one or two decent BJ games (3/2, DAS), the rest are 6/5 garbage.

So if your level of play meets or exceeds those levels and you are interested, you should get comp offers after a good session of play. The ACG coupon will pay for the book if you earn this one promotion.

Surprised by the lack of votes for the Cal. I've always had a fun time there.

We love the Golden Gate. Great atmosphere, and drinks service. We arrive in just under three weeks. It's an 11 hour flight... worth every minute.

We stay at the Four Queens and like to gamble at Fremont and Binions. They're both crowded, it's a big party.
