They don't have wifi in the rooms. It is an ethernet connection. It's very annoying.

I was in one of the Monaco Suites last year and we were somehow able to get wifi, but in a standard room, it is only wired internet. They are supposedly working on upgrading this, which is shocking. It's 2014, not 2004. They do have free Wifi on the first 2 levels of the hotel/casino, however.

As was said: its wired internet.

But you can get around that by just bringing along your own router from home and plugging the ethernet cable in to that and then using your laptop. After I upgraded our router at home I just packed my old one in my suitcase along with a spare cable and take that everywhere in case something like this comes up, or you could just buy a cheap wireless router for as little as $15-20 and keep it as a travel router just in case you end up somewhere without wifi.

Recognizing my October 2013 trip at Hotel32 was a bit of an alcohol induced blur but I recall using Wi-Fi. Could it be that it is only available upstairs?

I am T-8 to Monte Carlo myself. My homework tells me there's Wifi in the food court.

Yeah, the McDonald's offers free wifi and then at the other end of the food court you can get free wifi from the hotel lobby

Supposedly, all MGM Resort hotels in Vegas have wifi in public areas, restaurants, pool areas, nightclubs, and of course casino areas. They are bragging it is the best in the hospitality industry. They offer a slow free option with optional upgraded speeds at a price. It is said that hotel quests get upgraded speeds, but this is all from a press release and not from experience.

They say the system is so advance that while traveling from resort to resort one does not need to log into each network. It is all tied together.

    http://newsroom.mgmresorts.com/mgm-resorts/latest-news/company-news/hospitality-industrys-largest-next-generation-wi-fi-network-rolled-out-by-mgm-resorts-international-mobilitie-and-cisco.htm

Now this isn't for in-room wifi. It does suck that they don't have in-room wifi in all of their (MGM Resorts) rooms, which include Luxor and Excalibur. At the moment, Motel 6 has an edge over some top Vegas hotels. I won't even mention they also offer it for free without a mandatory fee.

When I called recently to make my reservations for my upcoming trip they said that there was wifi at Hotel32 and you may get wifi on the lower floors. They hope to have it extended to the entire hotel soon, but said that for now count on wired.

I was there last week in a basic room on the 29th floor. No wireless which was disappointing; though I was aware of it. They need to keep up with the times.

They did offer wired internet; but who actually used that anymore? It's worthless for phones, tablets, and almost all new laptops.

The food court does have wi-fi though as mentioned above.
