I'm going in June with a group of 5-6 guys all early 20's. A couple of us went this past December and stayed at Monte Carlo and really liked it. After looking at rates, it seems like Monte Carlo is the hotel that we will likely stay at again this trip. I was wondering how the pool is? Is it a pool with a fun atmosphere? Thanks!

It will be fun. The lazy river especially. I haven't stayed at Monte Carlo in a few years, preferred Bally's, but this live cam of the Pool will wet your appetite......obviously it's dark now but tomorrow is another day: http://www.earthcam.com/usa/nevada/lasvegas/index.php?cam=montecarlo

Only been there once, but it seemed to me the Lazy River attracted alot of families with kids.....The MGM Grand Lazy River was more of a party atmosphere IMHO

We were there Labor Day weekend a couple years ago. It was a fun partying time on the weekend. THey had a live DJ, lots of young people and good times. It was not a family atmosphere during the weekend. They kept throwing out a small group of girls for wearing bikinis that were too revealing. They would just go up to the room and switch bikinis and come back down.

I stopped over during the week and it was much more tame however. I dont recall seeing any kids on the weekend.

Can you pay for entrance to the pool if you are staying at a different hotel?

I agree with CaptainRon...weekends are definitely for the younger crowd. At our age it's not our thing but may be great for your age group. We got to the MC 2yrs ago on a Sunday early and it was just a spring break atmosphere. Thought uh oh. Life guard told us don't worry, Monday morn to Fri noon it changes - much more family/adult music....but noon Friday, Bang- she was right, changes right back to a party with DJ's. We really do like the pool there tho and one of the reasons we stay there now and then (Sun-Fri) along with the great deals they offer.
    Enjoy your trip.

I'd check out one of the other pools on the weekends if you're in your early 20's. Encore Beach Club on Sundays, Marquee Dayclub or Wet Republic for Saturdays. They'll have big name DJ's that go to those pool parties during the spring into September, if you're going in June during EDC, all the big name DJ's will be there and they'll be performing during the days at those pools.
