Hey Everyone, as the days start to wind down, I start to think of more things I want to do and try to cram it all into our 4 day trip! I was thinking about getting the free room at the Monte Carlo via MyVegas, just for one night so we can use the room key to get into the pool, but is that how they do that? Do they check to make sure that the card is valid? I do have a Picnic by the Pool from there that I was told includes admission to the pool, but we have 5 in our group and I don't think all 5 can get in with 1 Picnic pass...
    Anyone have any thoughts??

We had to show our card on Labor day weekend a couple years ago, but they did not swipe it.

Last time I stayed here in 2011, had to show key and they were charging non hotel visitors. I want to say $15 but you can call the concierge to verify if that is still happening.

Someone on MVF just recently said they were allowed to take their party of 4 into the pool with their Picnic at the Pool reward. Even if they only allow 2, I'm fairly sure I read that non-hotel guests can get in for $10.

We stayed there in April, when we went to the pool she was checking some gal's bag out and we just walked around them but I didn't see a card reader like Mandalay Bay has.
Wife and daughter were there a couple weeks ago and they just showed one room key for the 2 of them and the woman waved them on by.

Yeah, we were there this past May.

Just wave your room key, they do not swipe it or verify it.
You can bring several people in on one room key.

One thing you can't do, however, is bring in ANY type of beverage from outside the pool.
Yes, that even includes the Starbucks, Subway, MickeyDs, or even the hotel convenience store. All of these which are located just 20 yards max from the pool area entrance doors.

They stopped everyone who had any kind of beverage from entering the pool area.
Even bottles of plain ol' drinking water. :rolleyes2:

that's a good point. 20oz bottle of drinking water? pour it out or guzzle it down. Then walk right over to the pool bar and fill it full of free ice water.......:haha:

We were just at the MC in mid-July, and we had a voucher for the" picnic at the pool" from the my Vegas game. What members have said is spot on. You do need a room key to wave at the gate keeper, but they do not check if it valid. The key" faces" change from time to time, each time promoting a different rest. or lounge on the property. Maybe that how they know what key is current or its just not an issue with them. Anything your carrying get a quick look, mostly for outside food or drink. The checking is done by one of the young people working the pool, not security.

You do have to go into the casino to the M life booth to get your voucher for the "picnic" validated. Bring I D and any paper work printed off the computer when you exchanged points for the "picnic". Give it to the server at the pool and you all set. We had no issues getting the bucket of beer and the nachos.
    Enjoy, JW
