I've been to Vegas 35+ times but never even thought about riding the monorail. For my next visit I'm staying at NYNY and have a friend staying at Harrahs. Would it be best to Grab the monorail at MGM to Harrahs or just take the Monte Carlo tram to Bellagio and walk to Harrahs?

For your different options to get from NYNY to Harrah's:

Walk: costs nothing so its the least expensive way. Will take some time to get there and will be the most amount of walking.

Taxi: least amount of walking, probably going to cost you $10-12

Bus: you can catch it out front of MGM Grand, cost is $3 and its the second least amount of walking but depending on traffic and time of day it can sometimes take a long time to get there (sometimes its almost faster to just walk)

MGM Grand Monorail: cost will be $5 to take the monorail, its a pretty good walk from NYNY all the way to the back of MGM Grand, but you end up at the back of Harrah's.

Bellagio Tram: this will be the longest walk of the transport options and might even be longer than just straight walking down the sidewalk to Harrah's (funny how that is, but its a long walk to get to the tram and then when you get dropped off at Bellagio you are at the back of the property and have to work your way out to the street). It is free and not bad if you want to see a few other casinos along the way. It would probably be faster and a shorter walk if you walked from NYNY to Aria and just skipped the Monte Carlo part.

If it were me I would probably just go to MGM Grand and take the monorail and it'd be good to let your friend know where the monorail in Harrah's is so they can be the one to come down to your end the next day :)
