Does anyone travel with a mobile hot spot and which one would you recommend?

I use a Clear puck. Good price and true unlimited data (not throttled). However, I would not recommend it for most people as it only works in major metro areas. For example, it works in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas - but not in between.

Ha, before the technological revolution hit us, I would have told you to go to the downtown section of Mobile where they have a sort of mini-French Quarter of bars & restaurants. It is a pretty hot spot but I don't about the internet service.

I use my phone and tether to it. With Verizon I don't have to pay extra for the feature. It uses my regular data plan but have only gone over once or twice and it was due to march madness streaming and nfl Sunday ticket a couple months ago. I let the gf drive and I watch games on our road trips. Haha.
