    My Trip Report

So I got here yesterday. Flew out of DTW nonstop to LAS on Delta. Flight was uneventful and on time.

Checked in to NYNY around 11. She made me pay a $20 early check in fee. Grrrrrrr. I'm here for four nights, three comped via MyVegas. This weekend is EXPENSIVE. The dates were blacked out for my normal MLife comps. So it was lucky MyVegas could take care of three of them...

Anyway, the $20 fee was worth it I guess cause I was jet lagged and really just wanted a nap.

So the room she gave me was like 3 miles from the elevator. And the roller coaster was right outside, I could hear people screaming every 2 minutes. And it was a connecting room. I could hear every word the people next door were saying.

I decided I couldn't handle it. I went back down and asked for a new room. This was later in the evening. A different girl was working, she was much nicer. She apologized for the inconvenience, waived the resort fee, and gave me a new room. She put me in the EXACT SAME ROOM I was in when I was here in June. How weird is that?!

Other than that adventure the night was uneventful. Played blackjack at the Bellagio, won enough to pay for dinner. Came back to NYNY and played Pai Gow Poker for nearly five hours!! I lost $50, which I'd say is pretty great for nearly 5 hours of play!!

Early on in Pai Gow I was dealt a natural Royal Flush. It was a beautiful Royal of clubs. I don't play the sucker bet, so I didn't get the 150-1 payout. It's always hard for people to comprehend that I truly don't give a flying fuck when I hit those hands and am not playing the sucker bet. No one was playing enough to get the envy bonus either.

I'm not sure if this will work, but I actually made a video of the long ass walk from the elevator to my original room. I felt like I was in the hotel from The Shining.

Only place I've heard of charging a mandatory early check in is Treasure Island and it's $50. By the time the normal check in time rolled around they had a whole lobby of pissed off people.
We checked in early at Delano and our room wasn't ready (they called me with the room number later) but she told us they'd rather have people show early than everyone showing up at 3pm and waiting in line forever. Have done the same thing at MGM too.

Over a minute to walk to your room is crazy. No wonder the guy that passed you was jogging! Good call on switching rooms.

I've stayed at NYNY 3 times, and every time was in the same room, right next to the elevator. It wasn't as noisy as you would think.

Those sucker bets will take your money more often than pay out, so I'm with you on not sweating when they hit with no money on them,

    Have a great trip!

It's almost like you need a Sherpa and a hiking pack to make it to the room!

Classic video! Although PayTriple's pictures might be more visually stunning, I truly enjoyed your journey. The Shining reference is dead on! The double pane of windows halfway through was a tease...I thought you were there, and then another left turn...no need for those guests to hit the treadmill.

    Damn!
That walk is crazy. Aren't there any other elevators that serve it?

I just laughed out loud watching that video. I think I was in a room close to where you were at a few years ago and I've never been in better shape after my stay at the hotel.

That walk was crazy! I think the worst I have had at Vegas hotel was at Aria, but by the look of that video, that had to have been longer. Plus Aria is just in a straight line, this one has all kinds of crazy twists and turns. Glad you got your room switched to avoid that walk the entire time

My wife and I have stayed at NYNY 60+ times. Never knew the hallways continued for that far down. Best video of the month! (PayTriple is all pix:) )

Weird thing...when I was in Vegas in November, I stayed at the MGM with my sis and brother-in-law. We checked in at separate stations at about noon, I guess. My guy waived the early check-in, my BIL had to pay it. Haha. Not sure whether the decision making is that capricious or something else is at play. I'd have thought I'd get nothing special since I booked that trip on Hotels.com (since I had no play experience, etc with anyone in Vegas and the pricing was very good with a coupon). My BIL is exactly my age--but he's very old school. Books trips with our small town travel agent.

Well I'm still awake so I might as well post the Sunday report.

Woke up and did my NYNY tradition of getting the all you can eat pancakes at America cafe. Yummy as usual.

Played some pai gow. Left the table even.

Meandered about the strip for a while. Played some blackjack at the Bellagio. Couldn't find a good table so I didn't play long. Left even.

Went to PH and played Crazy 4 Poker. Lost $100. Some Diamond guy came and bought in for $2100. Betting like a mad man (anyone who bets $25 on the 6 card sucker bet should be sterilized....) He bought in when the relief dealer was there. When the regular dealer came back it was clear he didn't like her. He was making sarcastic comments about the way she dealt and about the fact that she carded someone. He abruptly decided that it was time to leave and he just pushed his pile of chips at the dealer spilling them all across the table. She just stared open mouthed at them for like 20 seconds and then colored him up. I drunkenly said, "Well that's awkward." It was awkward. He was a ******bag.

Ate dinner at Paris buffet. It's just "meh" for me. Nothing special.

Played BJ at the Bellagio again. Once again, I couldn't find a good table. Didn't play much and left even.

Came back to my room for a while and accidentally passed out for a couple hours.

Woke up at 1:30 am and got my 2nd wind.

Went downstairs here at NYNY and played BJ at one of their four remaining 3:2 tables. It was heads up with the dealer. Bought in for $100. Lost the first five hands, said fuck it, moved to pai gow. Played pai gow for a couple hours, eventually losing my remaining $50.

Now I'm back here in the room and hoping I will be able to sleep at some point.

It's amazing how people think just because they are in Vegas they can be an ass.

I think I maybe got like 2 hours of sleep last night. lol

I've been a little slap happy today.

When I realized I wasn't going to be falling asleep, I decided just to go get breakfast. Went to the buffet at PH. It was okay. I've had it before and it was better then. I still found plenty to enjoy though.

Then I went to the Bellagio and played BJ. Made $100 pretty quick. Decided to lock in a win and walked away.

Came back to my room and took a nap.

Went to the MGM and walked around. Didn't find any tables that looked encouraging to me. Headed back to NYNY and played BJ. Lost my $100 winnings from earlier very quickly. Grrrr...

Moved to the other $10 3:2 table and made back that $100 in less than one shoe. Being a pussy, I walked away. So I'm still up $100 for the day.

I did the 24 hour buffet pass. Was going to go to Flamingo for my final dinner because I've never eaten there. But apparently the Flamingo buffet is closed (?). Or at least it was today.

So I went to Harrahs. Nothing fancy, but the food is good, IMO. I like it better than Paris.

After I was going to play Crazy 4 Poker at the Cromwell but the table was closed.

So I walked over to the Bellagio and played blackjack. Played with my absolute favorite dealer, Mabel. She is great. Very helpful with people who don't know what they're doing, and gives perfect basic strategy advice. She also has a dry sense of humor that I like. I guess I'm a Mabel groupie. One of her other groupies showed up as I was playing as well. lol

It was a good session. Ended up making $100.

Headed back to the room and relaxed for a bit. Went downstairs here at NYNY and played Pai Gow Poker.

The poor guy next to me, was betting $5 on the Fortune bet every single hand. Wasn't getting anything and announced that he was stopping the Fortune bet. His very next hand: 7-7-7-7-A-Q-9

I was getting a lot of bonus hands, but of course I wasn't playing it. I got A LOT of full houses for some reason. The dealer kept saying I should play it. I kept saying never.

Then I was dealt A-A-A-A. She told me she would have been disgusted had I got the fifth ace.

Eventually left with like $30 winnings.

Now I'm actually gonna try to get some sleep tonight!

Today was a good day. Made a comeback and am now down only $48 for the trip, according to my calculations.

Thanks for the video. There is no way I would find my way back to the room stumbling back at 5AM in the morning...

Great trip report, thanks for the updates!! I do have to say though, that whenever I play Pai Gow Poker, I always have at least $5.00 on the bonus bet. I could never play the game and get a monster hand, and not have a bonus on it. I have had quite a few Royal Flushes, 4 of a kinds, Straigh Flushes that I made good money on. Even one time a guy who was playing on the same table as me in Flamingo, got 5 Aces and I picked up $250.00 bucks for the envy. Just too boring of a game for me if I am not playing the bonus. But to each his own!! Enjoy the rest of your trip, and win big!! I will be there April3rd through the 8th, can't wait!!:drunk:
