Just completed my first trip to vegas since the October 1st changes. Stayed at Aria. Offered 3 nights as an offer but stayed for 1 week as I was there for a conference and just wanted some vegas time as well -- paid for 4 nights.

I earned 200,000 points during my stay playing mostly slots with some Blackjack and slots. I don't have a host so I checked today at the players club if there were any primary comps that I could use -- Zippo, Zero, Zilch. I was a bit surprised by this as I thought they might pick up the rest of the room charges or at least a bit of food and beverage.

Am I out to lunch with my expectations or is this just Aria and the new program.

You are not the only one who has experienced the frustration with Aria (particularly after MLife's October 1 program change). I already stayed and gambled at Aria three times this year (in August, September and October, respectively).

My September trip (Sept 26 thru October2) gave me a good opportunity of actually witnessing the declined comps in both primary comp (PC) and express comp (EC) arena, effective October 1. I met with my host and had a somewhat disappointing discussion with him. He admitted that MLife system is going downhill and sucks big time. Hosts are not pleased with the changes, either. They can't do anything about it.

Shortly after my September trip, I posted a thread to alert VMB members in regards to gamblers (we) are treated unfairly, especially in primary comp (PC). Here are the details. http://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84446

In addition, Aria's machines (both video pokers and slots) are obviously tightened up. During my October trip (Oct 20-25), I mainly played at Bellagio and Mirage and had a winning trip. It's sad that Aria has the most comfortable bed and nice amenities; yet, Aria's machines and hosts are getting cold and unfriendly.

I will arrive at Aria this Wednesday (my 4th trip of this year). If the gaming condition remain the same at Aria, I will continue playing at Bellagio, Mirage, and other off-strip casinos where have better machines (full pay VP & loose slots) along with good BJ rules. I have been a loyal Aria customer since its grand opening on December 16, 2009. Whether I may or may not dump it (and find a new casino home/base) after this trip, I don't know.

BTW, it appears that you posted two identical threads of the same subject. I'll post my personal observation and experience regarding MLife and Aria upon my return. Thanks.

The slots are "tight" seriously I thought it was just a string of bad luck but I have never experienced slots that tight.

    Good Luck.

Wow. I'm no expert, but your expectations don't seem unrealistic to me. 200,000 points was a whole lot of play BEFORE the 10/1 changes. Earning 200,000 now is quite a bit of play. Especially since we keep hearing that we will have MORE primary comps to offset the loss of express comps and point play. Did you have anything else up front besides your rooms (food comp or free play) that would have eaten up some primary comps?

Glad that you have the same feedback. I know that Aria has tightened all their machines through its high-tech computer-controlled devices. That's why I took my plays to Bellagio and Mirage (where don't have those sneaky devices).

Josie, MLife lied to all of us.

According to MLife's new calculation method, the amount of Primary Comp (PC) shall be 7 times of the Express Comp (EC) ---> 35% versus 5% (totaled 40% of the theo). We can see the EC amount from MLife website (the tiny little 5% portion). However, we won't know about our PC amount. And, the host does not comp/give us that 35% portion ----> that's the big shame!

I know. They completely turned me off by the blatant lies they were telling on their facebook page. They actually had the nerve to say that with the 10/1 changes it would be easier and faster to earn point play and express comps.

Kind of totally turned me off of them. I will be hoping for a decent CET offer for my spring trip.

    I did a typo a while back that I think fits, M-Lie. ;)

BTW, for what it's worth I got lucky at Aria when I stayed there in early October but the 3 nights at Wynn killed me that trip. Also my friend Brian got lucky at Aria then too, so not sure if the slots are any tighter then last year, or just a run of bad luck for some. However in addition to what is being discussed here, what I hate is how little points we get for most of the slots any more since it seems 90 percent are now speciality slots. At least at Wynn and Venetian/Palazzo when I play those same slots I get full points and not at the rate I would get if playing VP instead.

Shiny, good luck on your upcoming trip, I hope Aria treats you right this time!

Primary Comp might be higher. But, it is worth ZILCH if the hosts can not actually apply them.

    Only time will tell.

I do know my last trip to Gold Strike in Tunica resulted in lots of "extra points" due to being Noir. But very little base points in their system.

Damn. That's depressing. I guess they're really cracking down on F&B comps since I don't think they are downgrading any room offers.

I am really concerned about the EC accrual issue. I have been blessed I suppose with some really great offers at NYNY and the "B" from Mlife but both my hosts put me in on great deals with more FP & RFB than ever before and did it back to back in the same week. Shocked me with the current state of things. I did clip them pretty good last trip so they probably want it all back. And they will probably get it but dammit we are going to eat good and see some shows in my favorite place on EARTH!

Truthfully, I am really worried about the EC's not so much for myself but that is usually what I cut my wife loose with. Something is just totally screwy with BFMFB accumulating 200k in points and getting no EC's. I saw that Shifter had a major issue with that too and had to get in their booty about it:nono:.

In March I made over a million TC's and I copied down the accumulated EC's at a little over $2k and I am really interested to see what the difference will be in a couple weeks. I don't play the specialty slots at all so I am going to try and be as consistent as possible to get an accurate comparison on both trips. I monitor my progress at NYNY on the little kiosks they have and on my phone at Bellagio so if nothing is happening I am going to be up their rump sideways to put it mildly. If I continue to get the run around I intend to do exactly what Jilly says and use my feet.

Not liking what I am seeing. Planning a trip in the next 60 days. Wonder if it will be last?

For average and it looks like above average players the offers keep diminishing and the extra perks of gambling are going away. I love to gamble but the extras have always made it more fun.

My past trip I went Platinum and I'm surprised that I got there because of the amount of play I did at Aria. The points accumulation is terrible now compared to past trips. I like the casino and the machines but I think I'll just be using it as a pedestrian bridge now to get me between MC and the B. I just rec'd a MC offer for 5 nites and some FP which I booked. MC is now becoming my base casino. I enjoyed 3 comp'd at the B this past trip with most F&B comp's and no resort fees paid. Both properties have been very good to me play-wise. Aria's a nice place, but I'd rather spend my $$$ elsewhere. I guess I'll see where platinum takes me as far as offers, etc. go this year. From the sounds of it, I might as well be sapphire.

Ok -- so I just checked my tier credits this morning and apparently I was incorrect in stating I had 200,000 -- I actually had 283,000 from my stay (apparently they were a bit behind in their adding credits). Just to make me a little more incensed. Oh well -- I had a great time.

And you still have no EC's for those tier credits in your acct? I would think even under this new system you would have $3-400 in there. WTH is going on with that?

Sorry for the confusion -- I did get some express comps -- I did not pay close attention as I had some EC in the account before I went so I don't know the exact number but I earned around 200$.

I think you really should have held out and asked for a host to speak too, in many cases players club reps aren't capable of doing anything. That's not to say host wouldn't have screwed you too, but I would have at least held out to speak to one.
