We are needing guidance towards non CET properties that have low minimums ($5) for 3 Card Poker. The times we are interested in would be weekdays (Sun - Thurs) from 9:00PM to 2:00AM.

We are trying to make our buy in last a little longer by avoiding the CET 3CP tables because of the 6 Card Sucker bet (that we will bet if playing at CET).

We need to avoid South Strip (MB, LUXOR, and Excalibur), for this trip, we are staying at Planet Hollywood. That leaves MGM, NYNY, and Monte Carlo as low cost options. Monte Carlo is best for we can easily take the Bellagio tram down to the MC.

North Strip (for when we visit north), the only options we see are Mirage and TI (non Mlife). We are not interested in playing at Casino Royal (apologies to CR fans).

So I guess what I am really asking is, does anyone know what the 3 Card Poker minimums are Sunday - Thursday in the evening hours of 9:00PM - 2:00AM for:

    1) Monte Carlo
    2) Aria
    3) Mirage
    4) TI

OK, I understand this is a question that cannot be answered, for 118 views, no one really knows about 3CP at the $5 level, for it is a carnival game.

What we have decided to do, is play at CET for the 3CP.... or.... maybe take the tram down to MC. Once at MC, if it is $10 3CP, we will go to the bar and play a round of 25c VP, then back to Pho.

A waste of time, granted, but we get some VP bar action.

Next night, after the HR Spin, we will try the TI. And once again, if the 3CP is $10, we will go to the bar for more 25c VP. Then back to Pho home base.

It's a tough way to learn, but we are willing to try if these places have $5 3CP.

Thanks to the 118 observers that had no honest info to give, for that is priceless... Thank you.

Are you really telling me just because that ripoff 6-card bet is on the felt at the CET tables, and you KNOW it is a huge ripoff, if you sit down at that table you STILL can't avoid playing it? You'll be playing exactly the same game you'll play at the MGM places if you just play the main game and Pair Plus.

When you play blackjack and they have the "21+3 Xtreme" side bet (3-card poker with the dealer's' up card), you HAVE to play it because it is there?

So you've apparently replied with helpful info to every post you've ever read on here?

I was most curious about your observations about the 6-card sucker bet, but to the point, I believe I see $5 3CP most everywhere, if not all the time. It's not my game of choice, so I never look that hard at it. I don't get into many Mirage locales, so not much help there. I certainly would think you'll find a $5 without trying hard at all most casinos.

At any of the non-highest end place, you'll almost certainly find a $5 game.

Two weeks ago when I was at Aria the minimums were $15 at night and they dealt the game face up. It was only $10 during the day.

I don't know the answer. Okay, is that better than not responding?

IIRC, Monte Carlo's 3 card minimums are $10.

You may have some luck at Excalibur but not sure even they have $5 min in the evenings.

Hate to break it to you, but you're not gonna find $5 Three Card Poker at any MGM property in the evening. During the morning, yes. Evening, no.

Monte Carlo's carnival games are always $10 in the evenings.

You're better off at PH. I always see $5 3CP games there. Just don't play the 6 card bonus bet. It's as simple as that.

I was giving thanks to the people who took the time to read the question, and were honest about not knowing, so they posted nothing. :peace:

Many times I have to do the same. I read someone's topic, but really do not know the answer. Instead of giving a guestimate, I do not respond.

Thanks for the MC info, so we will not make an evening trip there. For us, trying to avoid that CET $5 6 card sucker bet is like trying to play $2 a spin at the Lion Share. You would never forgive yourself if it hit, and so the best bet is to not play it at all, if you can't bet max.

That is why we are looking for CET alternatives, but still at the $5 level.
    Thanks for the info!

CET offers it at all casinos at all times - I believe

You need to think a little harder about this. Betting $3 instead of $2 at Lion's Share IMPROVES your odds (activating the progressive payout, all other payouts are still proportionally the same.) Putting $5 on the 6-card bonus DECREASES your odds, adding money to a bet that has a vastly higher house edge (18%) than your other money (at 2.01% and 7.28%). Betting all the spots at a CET 3CP table is NOT the same as 'betting max'.

As to the possibility of the 'regret' factor, the probability of winning the million is 1 in 20,358,520. Are you REALLY worried about missing out on that?

And what happens if you're playing at MGM and you get TJA of diamonds and the dealer gets 9QK of diamonds? Do you regret that just as much?

But could you ever forgive yourself if the $100K or the $1M hand hit, and you did not bet it?
That is my question, how would you feel as you just let a big one go bye bye? For us, it would be THE all time major Jeff Dunham, WALTER DUM ASS moment in life! The rest of the time with this bet, you just hope to get 3OAK or better to get some kind of action on this major sucker bet.

As for the MGM example, I would say, wow, there's the $1M hand at CET, and nothing more, except back to playing regular 3CP. That is why we are trying to find a non CET 3CP at the $5 level, so if the hand you described appears, it's a plain old flush win with no ill feelings afterwards. :peace:

I never play any losing side bets (occasionally some of the cruise ship side bets are player positive), and they hit fairly frequently. Most the time someone at the table will say something about it. For whatever reason it just doesn't bother me, I know that in the long run I'm making the smarter play.

Actually I could, and rather quickly. I'm playing 3CP not 6CP. It's not the game I sat down to play. I forgive myself every week for not playing the lottery though I might have won (where the odds aren't much worse than winning that $1,000,000.)

At the Ultimate Texas Holdem table at PH they added another game with your two down cards and a community 'blind' hand of 4 cards. You look at that 6-card hand after the rest of the game is over, (if you bet it), and it pays exactly the same way as the 6-card million dollar bonus at 3CP. I never play it and could care less what I 'would' have gotten.

I have played the 6 card bonus at CET properties and at this time I would believe that I am either even or maybe up a little. This due to holding three diamonds to the million and the dealer turning 2 of the 3 I needed. Missed by the Ad but still won 1K on the 6 card bet. If the last card turned would have been that ace and I had not bet it I would have felt terrible. I know it is a sucker bet but it has saved me a lot of times on hands that I folded and helped me make a payout on said hand.
If the same thing happened @ an MLife property I would have been just as happy as I was with the 1K and not have thought about the 1 million because it would not be an option there.

Last time in Vegas was at Bills in 2011, and got dealt A-K-Q of hearts, half way to $100K. The dealer had nada. Before the dealer turned over his cards, never felt the heart pounding the way it did that night!

Had the Pair Plus in play, so it was a good payout, but my 6 Card Sucker bet paid off nothing... Dammit! :drunk:

The only good thing about this bet, is when you fold your 3 card play, your 6 card bet remains in play. You hope the dealer can fill in the rest of your non flush 2-4-6 for a 5 straight payout, or 3OAK, and that does keep things going. With premium hands like 3OAK, you hope the dealer has the 4th, and when you get into SF territory, its a rush! But it is still among the worst casino bets out there. That is why I would rather be at a table that does not offer it.
