Hoping someone can help clarify this. I received an e-mail from MLife about my tier credit expiration stating the following:

Of course, I responded in the only logical way and booked a trip from 9/29 - 10/2 (Will likely be doing a trip report for this as well, more to come).

But my question: do credits earned on September 30th count towards this year, or is that the start of next year? I can't figure out if I need to earn the 7k tier points on the 29th, or if I can earn them on the 30th as well to maintain the gold status. Since I hit the 67k during my 4 day trip last year, it's probably not a problem, but I want to make sure I don't end up missing this based on a bad assumption.

    Thanks,

The safest answer would come from mLife. Have you emailed them yet?

I believe the expiration is 9/30/2016 at midnight, but since I switched over to CET, I'm not sure of the innerworkings of mLife anymore.

I emailed them, waiting for a response. However, it occurred to me that the answer from this board may actually be more reliable than what I get back from mLife :)

    @Basil
I copied this from the Q&A Section on the mlife website:
"Tiers expire on October 1 each year. Tier Credits earned from October 1 to September 30 qualify you for your tier beginning each October 1. If you advance to a higher tier at any time, you'll enjoy those benefits for at least one full year."

Your play up to and including Sept 30th will count towards attaining/maintaining gold status for the following year. On October 1, the tier credits are reset to zero and the new tier earning period begins. (I think you can earn up to midnight, but not 100% sure of the. exact mlife cutoff time).

    Thank you all!

Also just noticed at the bottom of the e-mail that it's double tier points 9/27-30, so that helps, too.

Just to clarify...not so much an expiration, but a reset to zero.

    Express Comps are still valid.

@Basil - That's a good deal! See - using the old 'logic' reason makes you a winner already!
Best of luck maintaining that Gold and hope you have a fun and winning trip.

It'll be interesting to see what they say.

TCs earned on the 30th should count, the question is when does the 30th end, and what gets posted before the 30th ends:

Hotel room rate for the night of the 30th (if you're paying)
Restaurant/Lounge tabs charged to the room (most restaurants close before midnight, but not all)
Gaming (most likely either midnight, or whenever the Sep 30th gaming day ends)

Hmm. Good point. The room is comped, but I do charge all meals to the room. I'd imagine that doesn't apply until checkout.
I seem to remember something about the gaming day ending in the early morning (like 6am?), but now I can't remember if that's the Mirage or Foxwoods (or both)

I wouldn't think they would go by gaming day but you could be right.

But you are right that the MLife gaming day is 3am to 3am

Without anyone knowing 100% i would error on the side of caution at midnight... it would be crazy if someone was cutting it that close though haha

I agree with this. I would stop before midnight just to be safe.

    Why would you STOP?

Ok stop is probably a bad word. Accomplish whatever tier goal you have before midnight.

Agreed: I expect I'll hit the tier on the 29th without an issue. Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss it by making bad assumptions. But if I have the 29th and the 30th, I don't see this being a problem at all.

TCs for room charges usually get posted overnight, along with the nightly room rate. But for Sep 30, it's going to be part of the "tricky" question. I don't think it happens by midnight.
