Will be staying at Mandalay and Aria (both Mlife properties) soon. Las Vegas first timer :). I've just registered for Mlife Platinum membership thanks to the Hyatt partnership. Mlife Platinum lists "Room Upgrade" as one of the benefits. Can I expect an upgrade to suite? Or would the $20 trick likely be more helpful?

Last two times at Mandalay I've done the $20 trick with the Gold card and got an upgrade. Have an idea of what you are looking for. High floor strip view is probably free. Delano or a two bedroom suite you'll have to pay something.

for a suite slim to none, maybe a higher floor or closer to elevator as thats an upgrade, rember u didnt get it gambling so u have no host pull. just have to get lucky.arias mlife tier perks dont reasly excist except for the buffet pass and taxi line and front desk skip line , the rest a basicly bs u need a host for basicly all otheres

You have a Plat card, but you are not a plat player. Suites are usually held out for PLAYERS. And, even then the player with the higher PLAY gets the suite first.

Even a normal Plat card would not get an upgrade to a suite. Those upgrades are space available and usually for a better view, etc. You can check the $20 trick thread, but I doubt that is going to get you a suite.

thanks for the responses. If the $20 trick gets me a better view at most then I'll probably just stick to whatever they assign me.

I'm an MLife Platinum, based on spend and not on play, and don't get suite upgrades. In fact, never have gotten a complimentary room upgrade. We'll see if that luck changes next month.

I'm the same status for the same reason. Usually a view upgrade is all you can get. I'll never know but I feel like the $20 doesn't matter. What matters is that you check in early enough in the day while availability is there. I did get a suite upgrade once at Vdara about 2 years ago but that's it.

Good point, GoFlameGo. Good to check in early and also get in on a day where occupancy isn't high. Also, one thing I've noticed is that demeanor and the luck of the draw with your check-in agent have a lot to do with it.
