I just signed up for mlife and became a gold card due to matching my hyatt level where I'm platinum. I was looking in the mlife online offers and saw some great discounts but before booking I was wondering if I may get an better offer by mail? we are looking to go March or April.

Without any play history you probably won't get anything. You could become platinum with just resort spend, and you still won't get any offers from MGM if you don't gamble. You get to enjoy some perks and special treatment with the card because you're a frequent guest, but you wont' get comped anything.

Look at it this way, if you don't gamble, the casino makes its money off you paying for your room, food, services, etc. If they give that to you for free, what are they supposed to make money on?

You get comped stuff based on your ADT...not the color of your card

MLife Gold is really only good for the buffet line pass...which you get at Pearl tier anyways. Maybe the occasional "room upgrade"

Once nice thing even as a low level player is the ability to accumulate Express Comps 20% faster. Every dime counts! Also at Gold you can use the invited guest check in. No need to wait in line to check in with the rest of the chumps.

The people who say it's "all about your ADT" aren't exactly right. I just returned from a 3 night comp stay at NYNY and I can guarantee I've never gambled enough there to warrant that offer.

I'm gold, and I typically play BJ at $10-20 a hand. Not a high roller at all. So the color of your card does help somewhat.

    no it doesnt.

you threw them some play and they sent you an offer for a lower tier place seeing if they can get you do gamble more its called marketing, happens all the time

cet will do that if you put a few dollars in a slot machine give you a free room hopping to get more out off you,its bussiness 1 o 1

The site generally shows tier-based discounts which aren't necessarily substantial but certainly aren't nonexistent, and those come for properties even where you don't play/stay. And, as mentioned, the line-skipping isn't a bad perk, not just for the restaurants but for checking in.

correct about tier discount i was reponding to the other guy about a comp offer at ny ny and i said it had nothing to do with the card level it was becuase he threw them some play and the where trying lure him.

most places have tier discounts without playing but other offers wont come without playing that was the orginal thing i ment.

I had stayed there before and given them the same level of play on that trip, so they knew my level of play coming into this trip.

I've also had a three night comped stay at MGM Grand with free Lady Gaga tickets, and I DEFINITELY have never gambled enough there for that level of comp. Since then I've had additional comp trips there as well.

    Card color helps.

I would put money you got a teaser offer, not an offer based on your card color. Sometimes they do offers not based on adt, but what they THINK it could be. Just filling rooms and betting on the "come".

I would bet even more money that they will NOT continue to send offers if you continue to low play them.

CET is very good at this. Drop a few bucks and here come the room offers.

It is also possible that the pit boss entered the wrong numbers on your last visit and that $10-$20 play was entered at a higher number or longer time period. Possible, but I am betting they were just taking a chance you would come back and play even more.

    Possibly.

I stayed there for three nights last July (two comped through MLife, the third through MyVegas) and played my normal $10-20 blackjack sessions. After that I received this 3 night offer.

I've stayed at MGM Grand on a 3 night comp with Lady Gaga tickets (this was when I was Pearl, not even Gold yet). I think they must have been desperate that weekend. I still receive the standard 2 night comp offers from them, even though based on what I read on these boards my play there would never warrant even one night comped.

I'm just saying card color can help, because realistically I feel like my ADT wouldn't get me a comped night at any of these hotels.

Do u think they may throw out a tease offer even though I haven't played there since I use their partner hyatt often? I just have never played at their properties.

I have a friend that received Noir through the Hyatt partnership. He had bet $200/hand BJ (respectable bet amount, but definitely not Noir levels) while on the trip where he received Noir. On subsequent trips he definitely was not treated like a "true Noir". I'm sure a host looked at his ADT (and his account probably has a flag on it that his status is due to the Hyatt partnership) and realized my friend got his status from business travel that was reimbursed, rather than having super deep pockets.

Highly unlikely. Like I mentioned earlier, you have NO play history with them at all (low, high, or average doesn't matter). They don't even know if you're a gambler. If they give you a free room, free food, free show, or free anything else, what is there left to make money on? They'll give you the tier discount and some special treatment on things like line cuts but they won't simply give you comps without any play. Perhaps if you had some play history with them even if a small amount they'd take a flier, but without any indication you're even a gambler it's unlikely, but not impossible.

For the poster commenting about being comped despite being a low roller, the difference is that you have given them SOME play, and by the sounds of it, it's been consistent even if a little amount. That means they know you are a gambler, and if you come to Vegas you will gamble. I'm not a mind reader so I can't tell you why they gave you an offer for certain, but your situation is not comparable to the OP's because you have a history of play even if it's not high amounts.

How many hours of play did you put in during your trip? $10-$20 may not seem like a lot, but if you are putting in a lot of hours, then that makes a difference. Don't ever question the comp offers...take em as they come! This is not directed at you, but everyone should remember that you can always book a non-comp room and then speak to a Host at the end of a trip to see if any part of the trip can be covered. Not sure about mlife, but i know Cosmo wants to see 4 hours of play per day with an average bet equal to the nightly room rate to get the room comped.

    '

'thank you, excatly what i was saying, an empty room is no profit, lets see if they can make him a good customer.

im platnium and they only thing i gett is a buffet pass, everything is from corpaorate marketing or from my play from my host

trust me they know it all.

corpartate doese one type of marketing and a host does the other.

they know how long you play and what ,and how much but you did the first thing you actualy gambled wich is the hard part for them to get you to prt with your money.

rember a 5 $ player turns into a 25$ and 25$ into a hundred so thats what they hope

ps the reason the offerd you gaga tickets was her tour was a bomb and not selling they where papering the house
