Let me make this more clear as I am a poor writer
    1. I have 2 free nights at Bellagio. Given to me by a nice slot host lady. I currently have no offers. I was very greatful
    2. I asked VIP services what type of play it would take to get additional comps above the standard room given at Bellagio. I was told 5k points
    3. I checked with Aria to see if i had any comps and I had 1 night comped and 1 that would be 129 a night plus resort fee. I asked how much coin in I would have to give them to get that comped. THey said I would need to earn 6k points. I said well i thought I would earn roughly 35 percent of theoretical loss in comps and she said its only 20 but standard is 6k points earn to cover the room?
    Questios
    1. Does this mean that Bellagio basically wants 15k coin thru on a slot to get a comped room. Does that roughly equate to 1500 in theoretical loss? Would the normal comps on a loss of that nature be 450 or so dollars?
    2. So Aria needs 18k. Wouldn't the comp earned on that be 540 or so dollars?
    3. Aria mentioned they only comp 20 percent of theoretical. Is this low?
    4. Does this new program suck?

Don't confuse Base Points with Tier Points. I earned 70,000 tier points my last trip; and only 7,000 base points. 5k base points seen mighty high to cover a room comp, and 5k tier credits would be ridiculously low. So, it seems they are talking about base points.

You get wayyyyy less comps on the new program. I didn't gamble any differently; and I know I typically play specialty slots (not sure if any non-specialty ones exist!?), and prior to October I'd earn 140,000 - 165,000 tier credits and $300 - $400 express comps. Last trip was 70k tier and a measley $70 in express comps, and that's a calculation at the Noir level. Gold level would be less.

There are so many flaws with this I don't know where to start.

First, points don't really equate to comps.

Second, if points did equate to comps, the way that you earned those points would affect how much you got in comps.

Third You earn 1 point for every $10 in at VP, 1 point for every $3 at slots. Except specialty slots, which are different. And the definition of specialty slot is apparently different at different properties.

Fourth. Nobody really knows for sure, but the consensus is that yes, you are getting less comps for your dollar in since the October 1st changes.

I had the exact same experience as Kimsa last week staying at THEHotel at Mandalay Bay and gambling in the MB casino. I really dislike the new M-Lie changes since October 1st. Most of my play next year will be going to V&P and Wynn both who seem to be a lot more generous with comps at the moment then the M-Life properties.

In my opinion the new program does suck!

I am personally conflicted now. On a limited bankroll and don't want to give Bellagio any play if its basically worthless for future comps. I want to make sure I get future comps. I however was given 2 nights without an offer by a very nice slot host.

MY concern however is earning future comps. My mlife comps have declined even when I have given them decent play. I am worried that I won't have any comps for my next trip if I don't focus my 2-3k at a location who will appreciate it. I may just take the room at Bellagio and play at Cosmo. What would you guys do? Last time I was going to no play the bellagio I ended up losing 3k there.(awful) Note I was getting 3 free nights and 300 after that but that has gone away and I only get week day nights now if I a lucky

Confusion more clear? Yes, you met that goal.

Personally, I think this is way too much focus on a little bit of comps.

Nostress- You are 100 percent correct. I just find comps fascinating. I am going to go to vegas no matter what and I enjoy getting things for free. I want to continue to get things for free when I gamble. Added bonus of gambling in vegas. I just reread what I wrote and I sound nuts. I am such a better communicator in person.

You have to define offers. I get no offers. But I call a host at an MLife property and get what I want. So I'm just not sure.

Give this poor guy a break, he said he's a bad writer...

I'd say you give Bellagio some play, and you'll likely get mailers at your level. Cosmopolitan you wont get anything, in my experience, at that level because I played a bit over that and got some gruff attitude the first trip I attempted to book from my "host" Riley about "you play I pay" rather than an actual offer.

So, I'd recommend giving Bellagio some play and seeing what you get from them, especially since they are giving you play. Conversely, if all you want is free rooms again and dont have a total rewards card, cross the street and go to Bally's or Flamingo and you will get offers right away at your level for 2-5 free nights.

Whenever you think you will be moving from one casino to another, go ahead and get that last comp in, while it is still available.

So, in this case, staying at Bellagio but playing where you think your next trip will be makes sense.

So my other host responded to my request on what I needed to do to cover my room. The numbers seem goofy. 6000 points in my opinion would equate to 1800 theoretical if your playing slots. I feel that I got a little more clarity. Would 6k coin thru be 600 theoretic?

In order to have a room comp you need 6,000 points or $600 theo loss or $1,000 actual loss. We base it on points, theo or actual loss.

Assuming the second section is what the casino sent back, that pretty much answers your question. But no, 6k points is not $600 theo, but from a philosophical perspective it may as well be. The host said he can use any of those three so if you hit 6k points you are set: it doesnt matter what your theo is.

In reality, theo is based on your theoretical loss, so it depends what game you are playing. If you pay VP you will get far less points than standard slots, for example.

    Hope this helps.

Centerfield- What I was saying is that 6k points if you play slots is roughly 18k in coin through. I would guestimate that is roughly 1440-1800 in theoretical for penny/nickel slots . I was just confused as they are very different measurements.

I ENDED UP earning 61k tier points and 55 in express comp. No idea if my play covered my room.
