All I want is a standard room but high floor with pool view. Do I need the $20 trick for this. It is very much worth it to me.

I've stayed at mirage probably 15 times at least. $20 trick has never worked!

Yes, I've done it a few times. I usually get the higher floor, with special elevator and choice of view for the $20 trick. Sometimes even a bottle of champagne...Not worth it to me, but it sounds like it is worth a try for you...

Had awesome luck upgrading from regular king room on 2nd floor to Tower King on 25th floor with the $20 trick on 7/7.... Couldn't have been any better, and love The Mirage so far!! Tower king is awesome with the dual sinks & private elevator

I paid for a premium view room through Funjet. Im wondering if the $20 trick would work. Is there another level room above a premium view without it being a suite?

    Thanks
    Chuck

The Resort Tower rooms would be a possible upgrade. They are on the top floors of the hotel with the penthouses and other suites (tower elevators) and have a larger bathroom. Other than that, it's not much different than a regular room.

Personally, I prefer them over the regular room just because there isn't as much traffic on those elevators and I like high floors :)

We will be checking in Saturday afternoon to the Mirage. Would I be wasting my time trying the $20 trick or would the clerks be thinking that it is an insult being that it's a Saturday?

You have to take into account that they may be pretty full up from the crowd that checked in on Friday, so the upgrades may be very limited. It never hurts to ask though.

I remember from my last stay now about that special elevator that only went to a couple of floors. I think I will try the $20 dollar trick to see if my premium view room can be upgraded. I am arriving late on a Sunday so I'm hoping that helps as well.

Ok, going in August with another guy so 2 beds is necessary. Staying in the basic resort queen. Doesn't sound like there is a better room to upgrade to with two beds. Anyone have success tipping for a fridge or late checkout? or should I not even bother and just ask? Thanks

Curious, Donavanrs28-- Does the same hold true when booked on a marketing offer thru Mlife acct online? Not a comped stay next week, but a very nice $40/nt. Same hold true with CET Caesars comp rate booked online based on my TR account rate calendar?

We are arriving on Sunday the 26th. We are on a partial comp 2 days comped 2 days at special rate with a resort credit. Should I ask for an upgrade and if so what should I ask for? This is our first stay at Mirage.

I would like to know as well. We are arriving August 9th for 5 nights, of which 3 are comped, with no resort fees. We also received slot credits and a resort credit. I would like to know what the protocol of the $20 trick is?...what to ask, and the success rate of the trick at the. Mirage? I'm thrilled and intrigued by the possibility of an upgrade. I'm beginning to really love this site.

We spent two nights at the Wynn and then moved over to the Mirage for three nights, 8/11-13....entire trip comped. The $20 trick worked like a charm....25th floor overlooking the strip and pool... able to watch the dolphins from our room. On a side note, too much work/jackhammers taking place on the casino floor.

We felt the same, we spent no time in the casino because of the noise.

I had a 4 night comp (RFB and FP too) from the Mirage for my wedding last year through my host. He just booked us tower king room so at check in I slipped the front desk girl a $100 and asked if there were any suite upgrades. She said they had a tower suite so of course we jumped on it since those are our preferred rooms. We got to the suite floor, but the room didn't have the double doors and it was just a deluxe king tower room like we already had. Obviously I called front desk and asked what the hell. I got some other guy and after putting me on hold for a while, he told us to go to a new room, which was a suite.
So if you're going to tip a hefty amount, make sure the clerk knows what they are talking about, and you know what floors the room you want is on. I don't know if she did that on purpose, or if she was new and didn't know the tower deluxe is not a tower suite.

what's that for? if you're being facetious, when I tip and they say I'm getting an upgrade, I want what I tipped for, otherwise I voluntarily paid more for a room I already had which is stupid.
