My husband, myself and another couple will be checking into the Mirage Saturday afternoon. Wondering what kind of coffee makers are in the room? I like to save my $$ and bring my own but don't know if they are keurigs or the teabag type ones or what.

Any other advice for the Mirage is appreciated. Been to Vegas over a dozen times but my first time staying here.

I was given advice once before to never use in room coffee pots because of what drunk people do to those pots. :vomit: I would either bring your own or buy your coffee.

There is no coffee maker of any kind in the rooms at The Mirage.

You got bad advice from someone who lives on fear and urban legends.

I recall seeing many YouTube videos of college kids pissing in coffeemakers in Las Vegas hotels. Of course, these videos are eventually removed from YouTube.

If you don't believe it, drink up. No chance I would drink from a Vegas room coffeemaker.

A little urine residue never killed anybody. Besides if I cared for that sort of thing, I'd eat my lunch on the toilet seat and not my desk.

+1 There is a starbucks (of course) on the main floor. You can also stop by a slot machine and get coffee from a waitress but that may end up being more expensive.

If you eat in the mornings, check out the buffet. It is excellent for breakfast. Lots of variety and pretty good quality.

A little tip for coffee -- the line is usually really long at the Mirage. You can take the tram to TI and try that Starbucks (sometimes that's even faster!) or walk accross the street to McDonalds...where the coffee is much cheaper too!

Or, like I do...take a couple of bucks and put it in a hot shot penny machine betting 1-5 cents at a time really slowly. Find a machine where you see a CW walking around. Order yourself a coffee and enjoy!

    Two suggestions:

1 - Try to be more specific in your thread/subject title.

2 - check out this thread about coffee makers.

Along with worrying about being tunneled 6 months in advance of your trip and having a camera to record every abuse that rat bas@#^d cabbie is putting you through, the number one problem that crosses all forum lines is the coffee pot conundrum. Somewhere in Las Vegas is a graveyard containing hundreds of thousands of 1 and 2 cup coffee pots, bought for just the 4-5 day stay and then abandoned.

I picture maids giving endless gifts of coffeepots they have found unwanted and unloved.

Why doesn't someone invent caffeine in a pill form, or a caffeine patch?

God help us, any sort of enjoyment we can have on vacation is ruined by these problems and the constant anxiety of did we tip enough.

Helpful tip: Go to the takeout at Carnegie Deli. There is usually only 1 or 2 people in line.
