    My Trip Report

So just got back Sunday from Vegas and had a good time as usual. The Mirage rooms were remodeled nicely. The $20 trick yielded a tower room. I think the only difference is the bathroom is double the size of a standard room. 2 sinks and separate shower and tub. This was a quick getaway. A buddy of mine and I arrived at 9 p.m. Friday and left 12 p.m. Sunday. We were long hauled from the airport. It was like $25. The guy asked if we were going to any strip clubs. He gave me his pitch about a free ride and drink and gave me his number. He did business for Rick’s Cabaret. I wanted to check this place out so I took his number. The company is listed on the NASDAQ so it couldn’t be a hole I thought, plus the guys from Howard Stern do the grand openings of their clubs, which also made it interesting. Checked in and came down to the casino Friday night around 10. Played Top Dollar $1 3 coin - $200 each – gone. Craps buy in $250 each - $550 profit. Just about even at this point and very buzzed. I tell my buddy I’d like to check Rick’s Cabaret out so I call the cabbie. I make a pit stop at the bathroom outside Jet before we leave. 2 other guys ask if I need a ride to a strip club. In all my trips in Vegas this has never happened. Maybe cabbies are making more money from the clubs than the actual fares. Jet was rocking by the way. I will never wait in a line to get into a club. That seems ridiculous to me. Anyway, Rick’s is fantastic. Great music, clean and classy décor, good drinks and great looking ladies. Stayed for an hour or so and went back to the Mirage for more cocktails and some blackjack. $10 six deck shoes very abundant all weekend. I have not seen this in years. Never a wait to play. $25 two deck. 3-2 payout with surrender. Wow! Too bad these limits and rules didn’t help. Played for like 5 hours though. Lost $500. It was around 7 a.m. and I have been up 24 hours at this point. I still feel good though. My buddy had to lay down for a while though. He went up and I wandered and played some slots. I went to the SPA and got a 50 minute Swedish massage. I usually make a reservation in advance but I figured I’d take a chance. They had many openings. I got in at 9 no problem. I usually stay in a state of sleep where I do remember the majority of the massage, but not this time. I passed out in 60 seconds after she started. I’ll I remember is she asked me to turn over and then she woke me up to tell me she was done. Crap! I told my buddy she could have walked out of the room for the 50 minutes for all I know I was so gone… Had breakfast at the Caribe Café. $50 for two breakfasts. Checked out the pool. I have stayed here about 5 times and this trip made me realize that I really don’t like the pool. Way too many chairs. There’s no room to walk. There’s no little tables to put your drink on. Too many people. WYNN has spoiled me. I figured I’d go to Bare so I could at least get a decent chair. I figured it was worth the $30. The line was 30 guys. A total sausage fest. I was turned off. The WSOP was going on at the RIO so we decided to check it out. Walked to Harrahs to take the shuttle. Played Pinball at Harrahs. $200 gone. Sat at a blackjack table at Rio $700 gone in 5 minutes! Uh… break time. Went to the WSOP area. Seeing this live vs. TV was amazing. I am not a poker player, but love watching it on TV. I saw some professionals there – Jesus, Doyle Brunson, the guy with the little shark, Lingren, and some others. I would be a terrible poker player I think. I have no patience. I’d be all in on the 5th hand or something, plus I’d smile when I have good cards or something. People would probably pick me apart. This one young guy was in a hand for $75,000. He was a statue. He wasn’t even breathing I think. Then I happened to look down and noticed his foot. He was moving his foot around in the repetitive motion and quickly over and over again. Meanwhile the rest of his body was a statue. That is what you call stress. He lost the hand. Seeing the hundreds of tables and hearing the constant chip shuffling was interesting. No one really talking. Everyone was very serious. There was a bracelet ceremony and we just happened to be standing right in front of the little stage where they do it. We watched the ceremony. I can’t remember what game he won, but it was a $500,000 prize. Good for him I thought. I didn’t feel like taking the shuttle back so we cabbed it. We had a burger at BLT. It was very good. My buddy wanted to play poker so he did and I sat at a 25 cent VP machine playing max credits. I started with $100 and got it up to $330. I hit a Royal with Dueces for 1000 credits at one point. Too bad I wasn’t playing $1. I played down to $250 and got up. I walked around and noticed this guy playing a slot machine called Triple Cash. I use to play that machine years ago and had luck on it then. I looked for on and found a $1 2 coin. Stuck in the $250. I got down to $40 and hit for $900. I tried to nurse it, but couldn’t win a thing. I had been up for about 36 hours at this point. I didn’t feel like losing anymore money so I figured I’d lay down as I wanted to go to Botero at Encore for dinner and check out XS. I woke up at 11:40 p.m.! Crap! Sleeping on a Saturday night in Vegas! This has never been done before (by me). Oh well. I’ll be back in October. I fell back asleep. So my take on the trip is the slots weren’t too tight, good blackjack and craps limits, awesome beds and décor and Rick’s is a nice clb. My new saying when people ask if I won money is, “I traded my money in for memoriesâ€. Until next time…

Nice T.R.~ I hate when I sleep too long and miss out on the fun! Especially in Vegas. Oh well, there's always next time!

Great report man....funny last line too...I like it.

I can no longer do the up for 24 hrs straight thing, let alone 36 hours so good for you, but I guess you did pay for it by sleeping in on a SATURDAY NIGHT IN VEGAS!!!!!!!!!! Unacceptable! :poke:

You know it all catches up to you. You can run for 36 hours but when you crash you crash hard.

Ive had those nights in Vegas. For me its usually start drinking hard in the room while getting ready for dinner. Drink through dinner, then to a bar for a few drinks before the club. Continue to drink at the club and then again at the after hours venue. By the time your back at your hotel room its 1pm the next day and you end up sleeping until 10-11pm. Then, when you finally wake up, you are so burnt out/hungover you get some greasy food and go right back to sleep. Great memories all the same lol

Your trip seems reminiscent of mine a few weeks ago. Was up all night and went to the Mirage spa only to pass out and not enjoy my massage. Except i stayed up all the next day because there was no way I was going to miss out on a night in Vegas.....especially a Saturday!
Anyways, sounds like you had a good time regardless.
