Only a few more days until me and Mrs. TXactuarial return to the promised land for our 2nd trip of the year. We went in August where we saw the MJ Cirque, Zarkana, and cleaned up on our freeplay/matchplay offers. Seriously, before August the wife had never played a hand of blackjack in her life, and now can proudly say that after 5 hands of $25 + $25 matchplay, she is still batting 1.000. Since that was her first trip to Vegas, her warped perception of us winning all the time has granted me... I mean us... a bonus trip for 2014!

Although we will be staying in one of Mirage's Resort Tower King Room, most of our gambling will probably be downtown. It seems a little backwards to me to pay strip-room prices for the ultimate experience of downtown, but hey, I can't complain. We will be seeing Beatles LOVE, as well as 'O' at Bellagio, so at least both of those will be within walking distance. I plan on visiting the Baccarat bar at Bellagio while we're over at 'O', and probably playing some Baccarat while we're over there. Although from the youtube videos, I haven't actually seen an immediate juxtaposition of both 'baccarat' and 'bar', but regardless, we will do at least a little of each!

We will also be doing our considerable share of couponing/lowrolling. I expect our $2k gambling bankroll to me sufficient for our 2.5 days in Vegas, but despite that, we love finding good deals! Quick shoutout to Dfrank1608 and Spivderman here on the VMB for hooking us up with some extra drink coupons and freeplay that they couldn't use before they expire at the end of the year. The camaraderie on this board is second to none, and we fully plan on paying forward the generosity! Between the 2014 ACG, 2015 ACG, LVA coupon guides, VMB hooking us up, and some other random coupons and offers, we have secured about $600 total in freeplay/match play/cash savings. Adjusted for the one-time-use rules on some of the coupons, this is an expected value of approximately $450.

We also plan on going on a bit of a 'swag crawl' if you will. Downtown Grand is giving away a free t-shirt with slot club signup, along with a hoodie for 1,000 points. Four Queens has a point redemption for shirts at their players club. And Las Vegas Club has a promotion where if you get a blackjack suited in their 'suit of the day', you win a t-shirt (or free beer, but I don't expect to pay for alcohol on this trip). If anyone else knows of any casino swag promotions, let me know!

So far, the only restaurants reservations we have are for Hugo's Cellar on the 27th, and Giada on the 29th. If anyone has any recommendations for good restaurants over by the Palms/Rio/Gold Coast/Orleans area for the 28th, we are open to suggestions.

One more question for you guys, has anyone taken the SDX from the Wynn to downtown? Where exactly does it stop, and would you recommend taking it over a taxi?

If you're into Chinese food Ping Pang Pong at the Gold Coast is one of the best Cantonese restaurants in Las Vegas.

I take the Deuce (same as SDX) from Wynn to downtown when I don't have a car. It's easy and cheap. $24 for a 3 day pass. The Deuce runs 24 hours a day.

    Have fun!

Thanks for the "shout out". There is nothing like following up a successful trip with another one a short time later. My wife and I have really enjoyed the steakhouse at Binion's with the MRB 25% off coupon. In addition, I ate at Ping Pang Pong (Gold Coast) for the first time during my July trip and it was quite tasty. You are in great shape with the coupons and $2k...good luck!

I probably should have specified that a trip report will follow in this thread.
