I think the whole lawsuit thing is getting overblown. He said he wasn't going to sue and never hinted otherwise.

This is really a case of poor reaction from the staff when one of their guests had a minor injury on their property. The blood aspect makes it more interesting on the part of the casino. That chair should have been removed. What if the OP had HIV or whatever other random disease that could be transmitted though blood? They don't know and the next person that stabs their finger won't know that they might have possibly been infected through something as innocent as a finger prick on a staple.

It's just poor form all the way around.

Uh....not insiuating that the OP has blood transferable diseases.

Putting aside the customer service aspect to talk about the health aspect:

When was your last tetanus booster? You're supposed to get one every 10 years (now it's the Tdap) and, if your last one was longer or if you've never had one, you should make sure to get one now.

And since others before you may have also been pricked by that staple, if you have not been immunized against Hepatitis B, you might as well do that as well. It's a set of two shots six months apart and you might as well do the series to have full protection, but just the first one should get you through any possible Hep B from the staple stick.

I went to Cabo San Lucas a few years ago and they were doing some work on the ceiling of the mall I was walking through. As I approached the three-story scaffolding I thought "There's no caution tape around it. If a tool fell on me, I could get hurt!" So I didn't walk too close to it.

I say this in reference to the lawsuit discussion (NOT insinuating that he should have been more careful putting his hand under a chair). I wish America would go back to that mentality. Like if you are at fault in a traffic accident, go ahead and admit it. Unlike the instructions our insurance companies give us.

Sorry about your accident. And I'm not surprised at the reaction. Not everyone on the floor is a customer service champion. There's a reason some people are in the jobs they are. It's because of their strengths and weaknesses.

Yeah, that really stinks that happened. I think I would have been upset on how they handled it as well. I wouldn't sue someone over something as stupid as a tack that has come undone a little, but I would have expected the pit boss at least to "Say sorry about that, let me get you a band-aid, and a new chair." And, they should have called in a drink order for ya. For medical reasons. ;)

I could see the guard not doing it. They're not really "customer service". Sounded like he didn't want you spreading anything you might have, not that you have anything. But, he could have done it a lot better.

I don't think most people would sue over something that small, but it's the big wigs job to worry about the 1 person that would for their annual budget. And, you wouldn't think someone would sue for dropping hot coffee in their lap after ordering hot coffee. :rolleyes2:
