A minor question about how the mlife rolling points and tier levels work. Was last in Vegas last October which was my first time since the Mlife switch. Used to get good offers from MGM but have done more at CET and V/P the last few trips. After I got my mlife card I played a little one night at MGM and I have 12,000+ points still showing on my account.

Headed back to Vegas this October and will be there just inside of one year from the last trip. Assume I play enough at an MGM spot to move up a tier level before the points from last year roll off. Do I then have that tier level for a period of time - or will the loss of the points from last year take me back down a tier level immediately if it gets me under that number. Should I be sure to get a new card made when I bump over the tier level amount and before the other ones roll off? Or should I make sure I play enough at MGM this trip to be at that higher tier level after the points from last year roll off?

Only reason I care is that there is a local Ameristar casino that I have not gone to in years because I just have played CET locally. But thinking about getting an Ameristar card and they apparently now match the Mlife tier level when you sign up. Just thinking I might wait until after the Vegas trip to sign up at Ameristar if it gives me a boost up the tier level. Then I might see if the Ameristar/mlife link works better than CET as I really prefer the MGM hotels in Vegas to the CET properties.

The tier is good for 12 months since your last activity at that tier level.

So lets say you play in Oct and get to Gold. If points drop off between Oct and the next time you earn a point, your gold status will drop on Oct 2013.

You don't need to get a new card at the time. If the system now shows you at 10000 points a year from now, you are still Gold through Oct 2013 in the example above. You will get a gold card.

One thing I would caution you on is that MLife has more levels than most players cards. In CET terms, Gold ~= Platinum and Platinum ~= Diamond. Pearl doesn't really have a comparison, so if that was the level you would be reaching, I don't know if Ameristar would match that with anything.

I think I just need to get to Mlife Pearl to bypass the first level of Star Awards. Mlife Gold converts to the same thing. To get to the 3rd level at Star Awards (Elite) I have to get to Mlife Platinum.
