While on our trip our server at the Rainforest Cafe was telling us (the one who screwed up the charges to our room). Anyway I said are you all changing the restaurant, since they had make shift walls put up and such, I had mentioned to my husband, maybe this wasn't such a good choice for dining on our last day in Vegas. The server said the restaurant (Rainforest) was about 2/3'rds back open, they had to condense it tremendously, while the new restaurant Hakkasan was being built, since the Rainforest shares some of the same internal structural walls/beams/etc, he said the multiple level restaurant is going to have a swimming pool supposedly on the top level, that it's going to be amazing, he said as soon as the internal construction for Hakkasan was finished Rainforest will then completely open up the restaurant again. Really though? a swimming pool? I'm not sure if this is completely true, although this place looks to be an amazing place to dine. I have to tell you all, after going through MGM and seeing the lions gone, and seeing what was put in place for the time being, a makeshift of what they're rooms are going to look like, I was really bummed!

shifter I'm not good at copying videos and such, but if you go to mgmgrandrenovation.com it has a lot of info. Hakkasan looks to be an amazing restaurant! with a club, etc. like you said the "whole shebang"! The server at the Rainforest said it's been a struggle working with the construction going on. You know, I never thought I would say this, but here goes! I was really nerved with all the construction going on! on and around the strip, that I told my husband, I don't wanna come back here until all this construction is done! My husband said when we get ready to do the hardwood floors and redo our bathrooms, although our home is only nearing 4 years old, we want to make changes, anyway he said how are you going to handle the chaos? I said I'll move out until it's done...lol! It just really bugged me to see the cranes and all the construction at MGM, that I'm glad we only dined there, didn't hang out to gamble and such, and than down on the other end of the strip...ugh! Although our boys chose to stay at Aria, they said it was a mistake, don't get me wrong they enjoyed themselves, but they missed the MGM ALOT! I said when they're done with all the renovations we'll go back.

the construction does suck when it changes your normal routine. i never go to the front of MGM so the crane and everything didn't really change anything i was doing, so it didn't bother me. but all the casino renovations going on did suck. i wish i had stayed at the B last trip instead of MGM because of that.

I found it interesting to watch the construction as they are taking out the complete foundation including all the i-beams and steal reinforced concrete. My buddy and I watched it for a while because it's so unusual to see construction actually go to ground and not keep the supporting infrastructure.

    Vegas spares no expense!
