Looking at the spa suite or the one bedroom suite, do any or all of these have city views? usable refridge in the rooms or just mini bars? did u stay in one of these and if so was it nice, non smoking?

    compare to vdara suites?

is this a long walk from rooms to the strip or parking garage there ?

    thanks

I can't compare to Vdara since I never stayed there. The spa suite is the next to the last room at the far end of the hall....the last room being the one bedroom suites. They are nice. They had fridges before the redo a few years ago but everything I have seen/read tells me they did not put the fridges back in when they redid them. I would love to be wrong on that, it is one of the main reasons I won't stay in one again. From what I have read MGM has gone all nonsmoking in the rooms just recently. ( FWIW I believe some of the high end suites you can still smoke in). I would call it a very long walk to the strip from any of the MGM rooms...but that is just my opinion. Parking garage isn't too bad since the entrance is located near the hotel lobby which is near the guest room elevators. Nice rooms/suites but a lot of walking.

MGM Grand's footprint has 4 wings extending from a center hub. Some of the rooms you asked about will have strip views and some won't. Because they're at the ends of the halls, the ones that do have strip views will have decent ones.

No fridges, but you can have one delivered.

MGM apparently went all non-smoking a few weeks ago. Prior to that, they had 2 smoking floors. I'll be finding out how hard they're enforcing it in a few weeks, or whether they are kind of grandfathering people in who already had reservations.

MGM is big, it's a few minutes walk to the to the strip or the garage.

Stayed for the first time at MGM and didn't really like it. It's a pretty far walk to the strip / other casinos (I guess nyny isn't so bad since you can walk inside) but it's a 20+ min walk over to Planet Hollywood which is adjacent casino on the strip. I also wasn't a big fan of the food choices. Would have liked something between food court and full sit down (to be fair I never tried their sports bar)

They all have views of something. But only about 1/4 of the rooms have strip views. The rest look at the airport or the mountains or the pool.

On a trip last year Igot moved to a 1BR suite at MGM after an issue with my first room,
The suite itself was really nice. A true suite (unlike the executive suite) with large rooms and lots of Windows.

The only issue with my particular room was the location. Here's the view out the window, a nice view into the monorail station:

And worse, at 6am I thought I heard the alarm going off, it turned out I was right above the loading dock, and the room wasn't very sound proof. Looking out the other window:

Although the room was nice I had them move me again (they said they would move move to another 1BR, but they gave me an executive suite,)
