It all depends on what you are looking for? Gaming? Pool? Rooms? Nightlife?

To compare, you need to be more specific.

I've stayed at both several times. The rooms are recently updated and the casino atmosphere is more lively at Mgm. However I enjoy the MB property with the live band playing near the casino, restaurant selection in MB and MB place, Moorea beach club, and fun lounges like the foundation room. You really can't go wrong with either. The table limits are about the same in both casinos with the same selection of games.

well the pools are a little too cool during easter, and the new restrauant at MGM where the lions used to be is a refreshing change, i always visited nyny and Monte Carlo because they are an easy walk from the MGM but those 2 casino have changed their blackjack tables too much, the rooms at MGM do not impress so that is why i may try MB

In terms of standard rooms, I like MB better. Both are good properties. MGM is better for gambling. More BJ tables with better rules. The best rules for BJ at MB can only be found in the high limit and the minimum is usually $200. I like the restaurants at MGM more, but there are very good options at MB too. MB has a much better sportsbook. The spas are about even in my book. MGM has a much better location. I don't mind being at the end of the Strip, but I recognize its either a long walk (even with the tram) or a cab ride anywhere I want to go. Try MB if you want to mix it up and try something different

We go EVERY Easter and the weather is fantastic for the pools......usually in the low 80's......we swim every trip at Easter time.

But anyways, my vote is MGM Grand.

My vote is MB without a doubt... Restaurant choices are many and a wide variety. Casino is spacious and large, pools are the best on the strip and even the standard room is bigger and nicer than MGM. I supposed a suite would be comparable. We generally are upgraded to a MB suite or the Delano, (just for asking and at no charge), and our room at MGM via MyVEGAS was the little old petite suite, which I didn't care for at all. Perhaps the newly renovated Grand Kings and/or suites are nice, but we were relegated to the old rooms and they are very tiny and dark. To me, MGM is very crowded, cramped and hot in the casino with poor air circulation (when I was there). Restaurants are pretty good, location is better at the MGM, but I was not impressed with the pools there and it seemed they were very far away and a long long walk to get to the pool. We always prefer MB and the walk is not that bad with trams, etc. Sportsbook at MB is excellent, waitresses come around often at tables and slots... never saw a waitress at MGM when I played. Just my 2 cents.

Agree with UK 100%.Tried MB twice on short stays and I thought the property was nice.
Although MB is not that much more out of the way than MGM it feels more isolated.

MGM is probably the one place in Vegas where I can step into and never see the light of day until it's time to head back to McCarran. While they are pretty comparable properties, the energy of the floor of MGM tilts it a bit in their favor. For me it sucks me in and doesn't let me escape!

right now i am leaning towards MB, i really don't care for the MGM rooms but i can always find a 10.00 BJ table dealt from a shoe at 3:2, so i might stay at MB give it a shot but i more than likely will be playing at MGM LOL, april 1st can't come soon enough

We are headed out that way in January and have opted to go with MB. Have done 3 visits to MB, one trip to MGM. Hard to exactly pinpoint the differences, but we like the more open feeling at MB I guess. MGM always seems so busy... and check in - that is insane. We were able to do VIP last time, not sure if we would get it again.

It also helps that we can get a real suite easier at MB/Delano. And, with a weekend on this trip, the VIP lounge on the 62nd floor is an extra.

So, not much help to the folks asking.

Stayed at both MGM and MB last July- was in a Grand King at MGM and a standard MB room. Overall the rooms felt to be of similar standard, I think the mgm bed was a little comfier and I liked the black out window shades, but MB felt slightly classier and I liked the view I got a MB (mountain/beach) much better. I also like the vibe of MB more over MGM- I am fairly young (29) but am much more laid back, MGM to me felt too party/club/college and was filled with early-mid 20s just looking to get blasted, whereas MB seemed a little calmer. I don't mind the location of MB because I like to walk, and if I am using a car (rental, always self park) it seems easier to avoid a lot of the strip traffic by being at one end. Both were nice hotels and ultimately I place them in the same class-range for mlife hotels, but I am pretty sure most days I would pick MB over MGM if price is similar, maybe paying a small premium for MB.
