Apparently MGM went live with new software and the bugs are not yet worked out. Been in line for 40 minutes so far one person in my line has gotten keys.

I left the MGM Grand yesterday where they are having big problems with the new system. I went to MLIFE prior to checking out as I've done in the past to see if my play was sufficient to wipe out any charges on my room. They couldn't do anything because the system was down.

I then went and spoke with a host who was unable to do anything other than confirm the amount of my primary comp for the trip. She couldn't see any room charges at all because that system was down. The host took down my MLIFE players card number and my name and said she would get back to me as soon as the system was up again. I went to the front desk to hand in my room keys and they also took my name and players card number.

The host called me at home this morning and said the system was still down and she didn't know when it was going to be back up and running again.

Well that explains the big ruckus I saw at the lobby yesterday at the Bellagio. Man it was crazy. Every counter had huge lines of people waiting to check in.

I have never seen such a ^@%$%#$% company when it comes to IT infrastructure.

Any idiot plans for failure of a new system and has a backup in place. They continue to amaze me in how much money they blow in bad systems. It has to be in the millions - in wasted employee time alone.

This software I guess replaces the software they implemented about a year ago which had similar problems, and was featured on undercover boss, but I thought that was just front desk.

Maybe they're just covering up no water or lights in the rooms.

That's rough. I'd be on my phone hoping I had saved an email offer or host's number from somewhere else.

I thought I was a Luddite. MGM has heard of those computiograh thingies, haven't they? :confused2:

They will probably suffer from the same problems a lot of corporates have:

IT says they need a system update and it will be more expensive, but much more productive and efficient to start from scratch than extend existing systems.

Bean counters see that the initial cost projections and vote for extending at a tenth of the cost.

Bean counters spend the next few years plugging holes in cashflow that are created by maintaining the existing system.

Some people cannot and will not see the bigger picture.

Computers still down. They can't do room charges at the restaurants. I'm pretty well done with MGM at this point.

Important Info on MGM Properties you all!

Some info I thought I would share with you all. Well we had to move our trip back by one week, so we will be leaving a week later, of which my husband also had to switch around, because of one of the whiny crybaby physicians, who's trip to Honduras is more important than our vacation, of course this particular physician is a true pompous azz! Anyway in calling to switch our entire reservation, we were told be lucky you aren't here now, VIP Marketing at Aria, stated they're system is completely down, it has been since this past tuesday and that it's taking all hotel guest within the MGM Properties checking in, up to 2 hours to just get checked into their rooms, since everything has to be written by hand! He said I should be receiving an email conformation by the 15th with the date change and all, if not to make sure to call him back, he gave me his name. I was lucky when I called, since this particular VIP Rep, said he was the one that our host gave our info too, to enter everything, he said so I still have your folder as well from your host on everything. I thought I would let all of you know this, he said they project for they're system to be down, for a few more days and have said perhaps near a week, although we hope it's sooner, he said he was off the past 2 days, so today was his first day in having to deal with this situation, I Thanked him for everything and told him I hope this gets resolved soon and that he has a better week.

Is this the reason I can't book a room offer through MILF?

I've tried 5 or 6 times, on two different browsers. Always fails.
