I do not have a host so maybe that is why the treatment is off-base.

VIP Reps, operators, front desk agents, player's club agents, just all the way rude. Even when I am calling to book a corporate comped offer. Little to zero pleasantries in the exchange. They just tend to be very dry, curt, and uncaring in the face of questions or dilemmas.

I continually give them the benefit of the doubt, hoping the next call to MB will not sound like the one made to Mirage. My dealings with them in the past couple years vary so widely from other casino groups. In fact, my first time at an MGM property (Mirage), I specifically did not get the player's club card because of how rude they treated me. They make it so hard for me to want to continue to spend my money with them.

    Rant over.

    Dumb question then.
    why do you?
Why don't you move on to somewhere they are more respectful?

That's my experience. It keeps me away. I realize they have nice rooms but service is more important to me. It's what sold me on Vegas and it's decline is driving my attention elsewhere.

Yeah, I get exactly the opposite too. Not sure why, but it's always 'mr m' and 'what can I do for you mr m'

I wonder if the friendliness goes up as your card level goes up?

Have to chime in as having had the opposite experience, as well. I dealt with a couple incredibly helpful phone reps a couple months ago, back when I was a lowly Pearl (having not been to Vegas in over a year). The restaurant reservations line got me exactly the table I wanted at Picasso, the front desk clerk at Bellagio got me a significant upgrade at check-in, and the front desk clerk at check-out took quite a bit off my bill, plus he then followed up with mLife to get additional charges taken off. I'm going back as Gold, have gotten pretty much the same service over the phone when booking restaurant reservations, and am hoping that Aria doesn't let me down when I get there in a couple weeks.

I find MGM staff in Vegas just fine. Sometimes real nice, but generally just doing their job... maybe a bit above that.

The only time I have less than satisfactory relations is usually when they are totally frustrated with their computer systems. I would probably be less cordial when pissed at the systems as well.

I've certainly dealt with some incompetence from Milf phone reps. And I did have a pretty surly gal check me in at Bellagio this spring (in of all places, the VIP check-in room). But, by and large, I've had decent luck when dealing with MGM folks. Nothing special but fairly professional and friendly.

That said, I'll echo the earlier poster's sentiment in saying that you should take your business elsewhere if you're not being treated with respect. If they don't want your money plenty of others will, I'm sure.

I worked at Avis Rent a Car for nearly ten years. We all have bad days. It just may be coincidental people have gotten reps that are having one of theirs.

Some people leave their personal lives at home when they go to work- others don't. Person may be going through a divorce, had a death in their family- whatever, they just might be having one of those days. It happens.

During my Avis days I had bad experiences with a few customers and it was because of the customer- it is tough to smile at the very next person in line like nothing had just happened with the previous person. Never take it personal.

We have had nothing but GREAT service from MGM Grand...only thing that keeps us away is their HIGH resort fees......back in August they comped us for 3 days so we went there and had a FANTASTIC time.....
