Anyone been by there or better yet played in MGM's poker room recently?

How are the conditions, games etc? Still the same look or did they finally get it off the main floor area?

They did a small overhaul. New front desk, new chairs and tables. Not sure what main floor area is but its located right next to the sports bar Tap.

Its off to the side though. Not really a poker room if you ask me but a designated area for poker.

Thanks for the info Kans......I really enjoy the MGM Grand property but the poker room/area just annoys the crap out of me for some reason

Im not sure why when playing at Bellagio, Aria, V/P, Mirage I at least feel like im in a separate area. I know they are "open" to the casino environment but for some reason it feels differently

I have to agree with the others. I just played their last night. And even the little casinos in South Lake Tahoe felt more like a poker "room". This was wide open area where the tables are. No walls whatsoever to designate the "room". I mean. It is not bad. Kind of noisy and dark. Tables a little crowded together. But overall nice room. I didn't see it before to changes to compare

They can't do anything with it. If you notice the back wall is a bank of fire exit doors. They can't wall it or move the tables any closer to the doors or even spread them out any more than they are. The fire marshall won't let them obstruct the doors.
The action is usually pretty good. Hardly anybody buys in for the minimum and overall the players are probably a little below average. A great table can happen anywhere any time on the strip but there are a lot of rooms your going to have a lot harder time running into one than MGM.
