I am working on a trip to Vegas the week of May 11. My wife usually rents a cabana a couple of days when we are there. We are looking at Luxor & MGM. I've only stayed at both properties before in the Fall & Winter. So, a trip to the pool didn't happen.

I am looking for any Feedback about your experiences at the Luxor & MGM pool and the cabanas. I'm betting the MGM pool is nicer, but I'd be interested in what your feedback about the Luxor pool is as well.

I didn't care for the pool at Lux. I would definitely go with MGM, the pool is nicer and the crowd is too.

Tyler my wife an I have stayed at MGM our last few visits and our pool experience there was great. We are early 30's if that helps with context

Ill put this in pro/con list form for easy reference

    Pros:
-Massive complex with many options- Many pools/lazy river and day club is separate so its not intrusive to the pool goers looking to relax
-Adult area that has no kids (not European style just a whole pool/hot tub and private cabanas that kids aren't allowed)
-The servers were quick with orders and I don't remember having to wait for drinks
-Multiple bars to get snacks and drinks if you are roaming around and don't have a CW
-Decent dining option(s) outside at the pool grill, also quick walk inside to more food options like "witch-craft" sandwiches

    Cons:
-Massive complex, can be too spread out if mobility is an issue
    - lazy river- well lets just say kids and tubes. (note can be overcome with alcohol :) )
    - can be a long walk to the pool depending on where your coming from. If you are in a west wing room it would be a longer hike than the Grand tower

    Cheers

MGM pool is much nicer and larger. I stayed there in June and got a cabana for my friends and I. Definitely happy we did that. It was 118 freakin degrees outside! The cabana was nice and spacious, but older. Our cabana was next to one of the smaller pools in back, which I preferred. It meant we were farther away from the Wet Republic noise. MGM pools also had a lazy river, but it was packed, so be prepared for that

Did the MGM pool July 2013 and we had a blast. $400 f&b commit as it was a Monday for the cabana we rented.

Very spacious and all. Big complex overall. No real kid prblems back by where we were at.

Stayed at Luxor last year, the pool area was pretty generic.
