MGM Grand fire 35 years ago today

    We had stayed there a few years before. At one time, I found the official report online. Very long, but interesting of each moment of the tragedy.

    I remember it well.

    There are some good things to come out of that tragedy. Building/safety specs are some of the toughest in the USA on The Strip as a result.

    A classmate of mine died in that fire. She was found in the stairwell. A horrible tragedy and I agree that we're all safer as a result.

    That's awful luvzmuzik. :(

    I found the report on it online once and read it through - it was quite chilling to read how this happened, and how it killed innocent people. It made me much more aware of my surroundings in hotels, and what to do in case of such a thing.

    I had stayed there twice before the fire.

    For those who don't know, the site is now Bally's.
