3 of us (husband, MIL and I) are spending 2 nights in Vegas in late January. First trip to Vegas for MIL and I. We'd originally booked an Executive Queen Suite at the MGM Grand, but I've now seen some very good rates for an Extra Bedroom Suite at the MB. In terms of room size, facilities and privacy, I'm definitely leaning towards MB but am aware its located at the very end of the Strip. Would appreciate some expert opinions on which option we should go with.

Hi cazza, a buddy and I stayed in the executive queen at MGM on a guys trip in september. It was a good room that fit our needs, just a place crash and shower. We are heavy gamblers followed by a good amount of drinking. We enjoyed the game, bar, and restaurant selection at MGM, however a third person would make it a little cramped. I have not stayed at MB but I agree with your thinking if your going to have a third person in the room. I don't know if you gamble a lot but I found MB Casino to be more subdued than MGM if that make a difference to you. Both properties are nice. Good Luck and may the dice land on your number.

Extra bedroom? like a 1 bedroom suite like in THEhotel? Me and my parents like these large rooms for the 3 of us, we have just "out grown" a regular room. So the past 5 or 6 trips we've taken together have been there, Trump or Vdara since they all have large 1 bedroom suites, reasonably priced. (they take the bedroom, I take the sofa bed usually, or THEhotel does have 2 queens)

I think you would be happy with either. MGM has been totally remodeled so that might be a better bet. Things are getting a little worn at Mandalay Bay (nothing bad by any means, but for me, newer is always better)

Also a lot of remodeling and stuff is just about to start at Mandalay Bay, maybe not be the best first impression.

Also there are a lot of great deals at that time, maybe 2 rooms? check smartervegas.com and find some promotion codes :)

With addressing a specific hotel, there is no way in the world I would share a room with MIL or Mother, assuming there is also a couple staying. What it costs for another room, I would do that. In fact, I would prefer two plain ole hotel rooms vs a suite if that is what it took.

I need my privacy. My snoring. My bath. My hours. My...other.
