I have a family Disneyworld vacation scheduled as my 2013 spring main trip, and I am not planning a Vegas trip until October of next year. But that means I will lose $700 in express comps if I don’t go before then.

So, now I am considering a short spring Vegas trip to make sure I don’t lose them. I don’t want to use an offer, as this will be a short, much smaller bankroll trip. I plan to just pay for the rooms with express comps - and I am looking at the new City View suites at the MGM Grand. Has anyone stayed in a renovated one of these yet?

Your EC will expire if no visit in 12 months and assume that is what you are working from.

As to NOT using a comp, not sure that is the smartest way to go. If your play is lower than normal, your future offers may be less anyways. If you have a comp, you should use it, even with minimal play. Personally, I would probably blow more than the $700 in EC by making a trip to save them.

Still, not sure why you would not use a comp.

Yes, I was there last month, so if I don't make it back until next October - that would be over a year - so I figured I'd sneak a short spring trip in.

I guess I didn't want to accept an offer and short-play them, thereby affecting future offers.

I was actually planning on mostly playing at CET properties, and focusing my play at MGM Grand just on one day - to keep up my ADT up and not lose my express comps.
