I'll be in Vegas in less than 24 hours, so time to get the trip report started!! This is the third annual July trip for my goddaughter's dance competition at MGM. I will be spending a large part of my time this trip with 10 to 17 year old girls and their "dance moms". Some of the dads go too (I am going with my goddaughter's dad), so we do have some fun... but to be clear, this trip will be nothing like my May trip. None the less, I should be able to get in some late night gambling sessions. My buddy's ex-wife (goddaughters mom) will also be there with her new husband. The good news is that everyone is on good terms - no tension, no issues. As of now, we are going to MJ One tomorrow night, cabana during the day Wednesday, and my buddy and I are going with a couple of the dads to the 10:00 PM show at Brooklyn Bowl Thursday night - Robinson Brotherhood. We do not have any specific restaurant reservations for this trip. We arrive mid day tomorrow, and at this point I am not sure if I am getting a Marque suite again, or a two bedroom Skyloft - at the time I booked the trip, my host said he would see what he could do based on availability. I've specifically avoided seeking confirmation with my host so I am surprised when we get there - but I think there is a good chance i'll get the Skyloft due to it being mid week in mid July. Now here is the interesting twist... I got an email from my Mandalay Bay host last week asking me to move over there for the weekend. She invited me to a blackjack tournament and the fight at MGM Saturday night. At the time, I told her I would consider it. And I did consider it - stay the weekend as my first ever solo trip? I called a friend to try and get them to fly out Friday and stay with me... no go. Solo? YES, SOLO! Well, I waited too long. I emailed her on Friday and asked if it was too late to get in the tourney... and it is I am on the waitlist for the tourney, and will consider staying if I get in. I normally do not care too much about these invite tournaments - but when they are small like the poker tourney in May, they can be interesting.
