I wish, but every preacher in the state will have little old ladies convinced the place will serve heroin and hookers. Good luck.

lets be honest here casinos are not exactly known for "turning a place around"

detroit, cleveland, atlantic city, new orleans, st louis, filly, gary and the list goes on and on saw no real improvement in the area around the casinos after they opened

they got the approval to build one in Springfield MA...about 18 miles from me....But they are finding it ain't like Vegas.
Think of the scene in Back to school where Thornton Mellon tells the professor what really happens in building something.
And they are building it in one of the run down areas of Springfield... gonna be about successfull as Detroit in turning around that toilet.

Though the slot city(no table games) at Planridge Harness Park opened last week and posted a win of $6.3 million for the first week..
they are gonna put a dent of Foxwoods and Mohegan

one thing unique about is there is no smoking allowed anywhere in the casino areas.

Everyone on this board sees casinos as some harmless fun, especially when on vacation. Politicians see casinos as an acceptable way to raise state revenue from consumption by middle-class and lower-class people. I hate seeing casinos pop up all over the place because it oversaturates the market and all the casinos end up sucking badly. It makes places like Vegas and AC seem a lot less special and that's sad.
