"The simple details are this: Bring your M life Rewards card and photo I.D. to the Race & Sports counter of any participating MGM Resorts destination. Those locations are located at any of the MGM resorts listed right here: Bellagio, ARIA, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, Monte Carlo, New York-New York, Luxor, Excalibur.

Once you provide your mLife card and photo I.D. and probably fill out a tax document or two you can download the playMGM application on your Android or Apple phone.

Once that is done, open the app, fund your account and make as many sports bet as your childs college account will allow you to make. You can deposit money into your account two ways. At the MGM sports book or, the playMGM prepaid card to instantly transfer funds to and from your mobile wagering account.

You must be present in Nevada to make said bets so you can’t download the app in say, Detroit (where we are!) and bet Vegas odds or Vegas books from here. You have to be in Nevada to place actual digital betting."

Probably only a mater of time until hackers figure out a way to make the phone appear to be in Nevada when it's far far away!

They did that a long time ago... :ssst:

Though I wouldn't be surprised if there is something in their terms that voids your payout if they can show you spoofed your location.

the gaming app means nothing as a tourist unless it offers live betting

If you live in Nevada that is a different story.

Curious if anybody here has used this yet? Since I'm staying at MGM on 10/1 I'm going to register and get set up with the app with a $100 start and give a review of the app and how it works, etc while I'm in town. I find it interesting that I'll be able to make bets from my phone while out and out at my leisure instead of having to be at an actual book to do it.

Looking forward to your review. I'll be in town from 10/7-10/16 and will be trying this out. How do you get paid? Just "cash out" and the money goes back into your checking acct?

From what I remember originally is you have to cash in at one of the MGM Sports Books. I hope to find out in a week. I don't bet much on football as I am a baseball fan so it will be fun to see how far $100 will get me on different small wager bets while out doing other degenerate gambling things.

Will be there 9-29 to 10-2 Will give a review. Though what has been told to me by my host is you give them whatever amount you want "loaded" onto device. Therefore, I assume you check out and whatever is left is "given" back to you.

Great App... I use it all the time I am in vegas. First thing I normally do after checkin is run to the sportsbook, waive down he manager, as they are the only one able to do anything pertaining to the playMGM app. Deposit however much I am willing to spend on betting that weekend and start placing my wagers in anywhere around vegas. The only thing I would recommend is, if there is a morning game prior to 8am playing (NFL London games) I would place the bet the day before, or otherwise head to the sportsbook and place the bet, because I believe the system has operating hours as well. Usually after 8am is when I see the APP work without any issues, earlier than that I have run into placing bets error where the amount I place for betting is replaced with a random amount, etc...

To cash out, they have said I do so from the cage, but this is not true. Every cage i've tried so far had always redirect me to the sportsbook. Apparently they will be able to cash you out, but until thats all sorted, you'll have to head over to the sportsbook and cash out that way.

Also, i've tried it on my jailbreak iphone just to see if I can easily trick it to be used outside Nevada, but unfortunately I was unsuccessful. It appears the APP taps into your phone GPS hardware, not IP based. One thing I hate about the app though is, you're having to log in each time you multi-task to another app. Oh, and if you have an iPhone with iOS10 its buggy. I keep having to force quit the app because it would lock up, each time I multi-task to a different app. :/

I was planning on using this app for the AFC\NFC championship games to avoid lines between games. Are the odds the same as the book? Does your account get credited immediately at the end of a game so you have funds available to bet on the next game?
