Does anyone have experience with the MGM Grand shuttle that can be arranged at the airport checkin?

    From my hotel confirmation:

MGM Grand offers the added convenience of a satellite registration/hotel check-in facility in the Las Vegas
McCarran International Airport. The facility is located in the south baggage claim near carousels 1 and 2.
Check in/register and receive your room keys while waiting for your luggage. In addition make restaurant
reservations or shuttle service to the MGM Grand (nominal charge)

Its not a special or specific MGM Grand shuttle... they just have an arrangement with one of the shuttle companies at the airport.

And I would recommend against booking a shuttle through the MGM Grand airport check in.

The first issue is that you don't get any special savings or incentive to use their preferred shuttle and nor will it get you or your luggage to the airport any better, faster, etc

And secondly, and most important: you are better off picking what shuttle company to use based on how busy they are. You don't want to get there, book with one company through MGM Grand and then get to the shuttle area and find out that its a 1+ hour wait until you can get on a shuttle because there are so many people lined up or sitting around... and then look over at the next shuttle company booth and they have a couple of open seats on a shuttle thats about to depart.

Allow me to also warn you about the shuttle. On our first trip to Vegas my wife was 6 months pregnant and we got a shuttle to take us to the Luxor. The shuttle was packed and the damn thing went up the MGM side of the strip all the way to venetian stopping about every other casino, then back down the other side of the strip from Mirage until we got to Luxor. We took so many ally ways with speed bumps my wife's water nearly broke! It took about over an hour to drop everyone off, get their luggage out, etc. We were motion sick by the time we got off that damn shuttle. Over 20 trips later I have never forgotten that experience and will never use a shuttle service from the airport again! Taxi, limo, bus, walk, helicopter anything but the airport shuttles.

Taxi is quick and cheap. If three people are traveling, it is cheaper. If two travel, it is close.
