I will be making a two night trip to Sam's Town with my father in early January.
Normally I travel with my wife and we rent a car because she is not a big drinker like myself. We plan on staying fairly intoxicated during our trip, and also plan to utilize the Sam's shuttle to travel downtown to MSS.

I have been planning to take a taxi to and from Sams, but I know that will be a pretty penny. I don't mind paying for those two rides, but I am wondering if you all know of any other transportation options that might be more comfortable for around the same cost as taxi, or a reliable and convenient lower priced option.

    Thanks

Thanks for the tip. I am primarily concerned with trans from airport to Sams Town though.

Most airport shuttles will get you there for, I think, around $6.50 each.

I have always wondered about the airport shuttles...
Do you book them in advance, or just catch one at McCarran? Can you arrange for pickup at the hotel for trans back to the airport, or do you taxi back?
Thanks for the info. Hope your Buckeyes find a way into the championship game!

    haley,

when you get outside mccarran, you go to shuttle area...pay for round trip to and from Sam town and tell them your return flight info.

they schedule your return pick up then...they will schedule it at least two hours before your flight time.

Only to lose the "big one" again? Don't know if I want to put myself through that again.

Urban's got a good team this year, but there's a lot of holes on defense, especially their secondary. Right now, I think Bama or the Noles would anihilate them.

It's been a few years since I checked, but most airport shuttles did not go to Sam's Town, and the ones that did charged around $40! They couldn't even say how long a wait 'til the next shuttle "might" go there. In other words, they didn't charge the normal off-Strip rate and you'd be better off taking a cab.

These days, if I'm going to Sam's from the airport, I take the 108 or 109N, whichever comes first, and transfer at Flamingo to the 202. The second stop after the bus turns onto Boulder is across the street from the main entrance.

BTW: For a few months over a year ago, Sam's ran a shuttle to the airport a few times a day, but that didn't last long – darn it!

Yeah, I feel you're pain about the big one in the past, but Meyer is a great big game coach and I would hate for yall to go undefeated for so long and not get a shot.

Its looking like a taxi is probably the way to go. Thanks for the help
